This story follows Bard Owen Dorr as he inadvertently finds himself traveling with a group of entertainers, pilgrims, and, for a short while, a group of mercenaries. As they share combat together, he collects their stories and finds that they have all been put together for a purpose: to stop the return of Adam’s first wife, Lilith, the queen of demons. But in the group is a liar, a traitor, and an agent for Lilith's adversary. Owen and Adam must uncover them all as even the legions of heaven and hell take to the field of battle. Lilith must be stopped at all cost, or all creation will return to chaos.
