The most comfort I've recieved
Revisado: 06-20-20
since losing my husband of 40 yrs 2 short months ago. Megan's compassion and gentle understanding soothes my heart. She gave me permission to grieve as I need to. To ask for the kind of help I need, and tools from how to breathe to cut down on my anxiety (which personally saves me most days) to ways to express my grief by/and for myself. Thank you Meghan. I listen to your book over and over. It's become my grief companion.

As a child, Alethea Black drifts between her father, a brilliant mathematician who is also her best friend, and her mother, a frank and outspoken woman on fire. After her father’s death, Alethea is left unmoored, a young woman more connected to life’s ethereal mysteries than to practical things such as doing laundry or paying taxes. And then, just when life seems to be getting back on track, she’s suddenly racked by crushing fatigue, inexplicable pain, and memory loss. With her grasp on reality fading, Alethea turns to her own research and desperate home remedies.

What a work. This book was fresh, entertaining and so original. I ide tidied so much with this character ... I both laughed out loud and felt the depth of her emotional struggles deep into soul. I can't wait to listen to it again. Having the author perform this was genius. no one else could have done it justice.

Josie Bianci was killed years ago on a train during a terrorist attack. Gone forever. It’s what her sister, Kit, an ER doctor in Santa Cruz, has always believed. Yet all it takes is a few heart-wrenching seconds to upend Kit’s world. Live coverage of a club fire in Auckland has captured the image of a woman stumbling through the smoke and debris. Her resemblance to Josie is unbelievable. And unmistakable. With it comes a flood of emotions - grief, loss, and anger - that Kit finally has a chance to put to rest: by finding the sister who’s been living a lie.

I loved this. The character development was amazing and I could relate to or with each character. My husband is going through his second bout with cancer in the last 3 yrs and her writing of the sadness and beauty of the days that go by was right on point. The most amazing times come out of the worst situations. Elizabeth Berg always hits me deep in my heart and soul.

Everyone has secrets, and Rachel Holloway is no exception. She’s worked hard to keep the past where it belongs: dead and buried. And so far, she’s been very successful. But now the small newspaper where she works wants to produce a podcast on a cold case: the disappearance 12 years ago of young Molly Forster. Some secrets should never see the light of day, and, as far as Rachel is concerned, whatever happened to little Molly is one of them.

But found main character ridiculous. As the plot unfolds each of the 3 characters devolve into pathetic idiots. I do love this narrator though. She makes anything sound good.
