This was something I picked up because it's all over Bookstagram. Kingdom of the Wicked is a richly atmospheric tale of witches and princes of hell.

The good:
Tension remains strong throughout, dramatic mainly.
Sexual tension ramps up a bit toward the end.
The world-building is pretty damn awesome.
Loved the talk of food.

The not so good:
I am not an idiot. I don't need characters to literally tell me someone is their ENEMY. Emilia does this more than once in the beginning.
Phrases were often repeated.
Emilia came off very hard as someone not so strong but trying to act super strong, but hey fake it till you make it I guess. At times this was annoying.

None of the things I mentioned above were enough to drop my rating of this book dramatically. It was an enjoyable read. I listened to the audiobook narrated by Marisa Calin, and I'm glad I did because there was a lot of Italian. She did an amazing job. Definitely recommend the audio.

Falcon's Kiss is the story of Ferrand, a demi-fae prince and Marya, a human princess. When Marya is passed up to rule her kingdom, she's urged into forming an alliance in marriage. She and Ferrand go into the arrangement determined to not catch feelings, but they do.

Instalove stories don't bother me like they do some others. Falling in love quickly is a common thing, especially among younger people. The trope of a marriage of convenience was believable. I thought Ferrand was a good character, but Marya grated on me after a while. She puts on an air of being an independent woman, but she often acts so naive and wishy-washy. The world building was okay. It probably could have used a little more. The thing that bothered me the most is that this story contains the trope I absolutely hate the most. I won't spoil that for you here, and it's strictly a personal preference. It might not bother you at all. Finally, I loved the beautiful cover of this book.

Thank you to the author for the complimentary audiobook to listen to and review. All opinions are my own.

I stumbled upon this gem while looking for Pet Sematary narrated by Michael C. Hall. I've loved him ever since "Six Feet Under".

His narration here does not disappoint. Because Breakfast at Tiffany's is like my mom's favorite movie, I've seen it many times. I was surprised to find that it follows the book very closely (until the ending which I won't spoil here).

Comparing the movie to the book though, the actual character (Capote's creation) is a much more deplorable person than Hepburn's charming yet flighty interpretation. I think if you see the movie first, you might like Holly more.

All in all, it was a good read.

Spoiler-free review!

Do you want a story that starts with Loki and Thor showing up at a wedding clad as ladies? Well, have I got news for you! I think like many people, I spent the past ten years with Tom Hiddleston's take on Loki in the various Marvel films. Thus, when I hear the name Loki, he is who I immediately default to. He really shaped Loki in to an unforgettable character with his own brand of charm, and I love that. So when I heard there was a whole book ripe with the charisma of Loki, I was there. Wolf truly captures Loki's voice and spirit, and he practically walks off the page. By that I mean Loki will do whatever he wants no matter what, but he's not a cruel, heartless god. He's just a bit chaotic. There are plenty of other characters breathing life into Truth and Other Lies including some we love to hate, and I mean truly hate. More than that Wolf really has Thor and Loki as classic Thor and Loki trading brotherly banter at every opportunity.

I was fortunate enough to listen to the audiobook narrated by Casey Eade, and I think I may have a new favorite audiobook narrator. She really became Loki, and her performance was amazing.

I cannot recommend this book enough!
