Historia
"No killing Goblins." So reads the sign outside of The Wandering Inn, a small building run by a young woman named Erin Solstice. She serves pasta with sausage, blue fruit juice, and dead acid flies on request. And she comes from another world. Ours. It's a bad day when Erin finds herself transported to a fantastical world and nearly gets eaten by a Dragon. She doesn't belong in a place where monster attacks are a fact of life, and where Humans are one species among many. But she must adapt to her new life. Or die.

Bad Narrator
Revisado: 04-06-25
The story is good and I like the overall plot. But the narrator makes the protagonist sound like a nasally brat and makes it really difficult to listen to.

Historia
After the daring rescue of a political dissident, Omega Force is contracted to investigate a rash of violent attacks on civilian shipping lanes within a group of star systems known as the Concordian Cluster. It seems a simple enough job with a huge payday at the end, and it's exactly what the ragtag group of mercenaries needs in order to keep their ship flying and to stay one step ahead of those hunting them.

it's good but I'm already tired of the small discrepancies. the time-line is wonky and there's not enough detail for my liking. the protagonist doesn't have a lot of depth.

Not a good series.
Revisado: 03-14-25
The story was too short and I lost interest about half way through. Ryk Brown's series is way better. Do not recommend. I wrote a good review for this book and the system locked me out from editing it. So here is a bad review to counteract the good one. Perferbiale middle finger.

Historia
After a long and brutal conflict, the war is over. Otto controls all the portals on the continent, and Garenland has made vassals of the other kingdoms. But some people can’t accept defeat. While Otto hunts King Villares in Rolan, Axel chases Prince Uther across Straken. With Markane scheming to help their enemies, the future of the New Garen Empire is far from certain. Even worse, the Wizards Guild is challenging Otto for leadership of the empire’s wizards, and they’ll use any means necessary to win. The war may be over, but the battles are far from won.

Historia
After the failure in Straken, Otto is forced to accept that as long as Garenland’s enemies can send reinforcements through the portals, the Northern Army has no hope of taking Marduke. But Otto has a plan: Seize control of the portals, and turn the enemy’s strength against them. To accomplish this seemingly impossible goal, Garenland’s top spies are dispatched to place magical patches on the portals in every capital. Behind enemy lines and on their own, it will be a miracle if the spies can survive, much less complete their missions.

There are areas that need improvement but I liked the story a lot. Not naming Lord Shenk until the end of the book was weird. I enjoyed the realism of the relationship between Otto and Anna-Maria.

Historia
Morgan's life is not easy. Growing up on the streets of City Four, he is constantly shunned by the other citizens. Morgan doesn't mind being ignored. What he does mind, though, are the constant beatings from the city guards due to his friendship with Sarah, the city lord's only daughter. Lord Simon wants him dead, but the laws of the kingdom are on Morgan’s side and even the guards won't kill him, just for being seen near his manor. Morgan’s time is running out, though. Lord Simon has deep pockets and his last visit to the manor may just have put him over the edge.

Awful
Revisado: 08-31-24
I can't even read this, the story is so cringe and childish. I don't know if the next book is better or if this book gets better. I just can't stand reading this. Literally the timing and story development is just so shallow. The best way to explain this is the start of the book, the main character is a street urchin who's best friend is a girl of nobility. Unrealistic. Then the foreshadowing is wild, his friend tells him exactly how The Change will feel and then not even 2 minutes later he goes through the change. If that wasn't bad enough; he developed his Powers and he is some kind of all powerful being? The author needs to grow up. Unreadable.
