Historia
In the future, most of humanity lives in massive underground bunkers, producing weapons for the nuclear war they’ve fled. Constantly bombarded by patriotic propaganda, the citizens of these industrial anthills believe they are waiting for the day when the war will be over and they can return above ground. But when Nick St. James, president of one anthill, makes an unauthorized trip to the surface, what he finds is more shocking than anything he could imagine.

Historia
For years as an award-winning war reporter, Sebastian Junger traveled to many front lines and frequently put his life at risk. And yet, the closest he ever came to death was the summer of 2020 while spending a quiet afternoon at the New England home he shared with his wife and two young children. Crippled by abdominal pain, Junger was rushed to the hospital by ambulance. Once there, he began slipping away. As blackness encroached, he was visited by his dead father, inviting Junger to join him.

So thorough and well researched while being emotional and heartfelt. I wish it was twice as long! Thank you so much for this book. Please write a follow up with a further analysis of consciousness and theoretical physics, you’ve made it so much more approachable for the rest of us.

Historia
The Roman Republic was one of the most remarkable achievements in the history of civilization. After its founding in 509 BCE, the Romans refused to allow a single leader to seize control of the state and grab absolute power. The Roman commitment to cooperative government and peaceful transfers of power was unmatched in the history of the ancient world. But by the year 133 BCE, the republican system was unable to cope with the vast empire Rome now ruled.

I liked book 1, and this one hits the ground running with a complex plot involving well developed characters, none of whom are safe. This book was faster and more exciting than book 1 and I’m pretty sure I’m addicted to the series now.... thanks againDean!

Revisado: 01-16-18
A must for anyone who read the first two books in the series. Sanderson continues to weave even more complex characters and plot elements together in unexpected ways. It seems like we’ve come so far since book one but by the end of this one, it’s clear there is still much farther to go.
