Historia
Katherine Nichols knew she’d had too many drinks, but they were only going a short distance. “There’s no traffic anyway,” Eve had pointed out. And they'd had such a great night out, the two of them. Even now, driving them home and knowing she shouldn’t, seemed almost mischievous. All part of the fun. Not anymore.

Very romantic but includes many life trials. His use of language to make pictures is breathtaking at times. The story is more uplifting than usual happy/sad almost equally.

I generally liked this book. The content matter was relevant and not predictable. The narrator enjoyable. I didn’t like that it started out slowly (nearly the first 1/2 of the book. The shift in point of view was disconcerting.

The narration of this novel was fine and probably enhanced the story. I found the premise predictable and somewhat shallow. It entertained but was not memorable for me.

Better than the others
Revisado: 03-19-18
I like the story because there was good counter balance with the dark which was primarily absent from the others. It takes some nice unexpected turns that I did not anticipate. (Unusual for me).
I didn’t like the narration I didn’t get as much of the male characters as I did the women. I would suggest a male narrator for the men.
The epilogue was again unexpected, and an intriguing surprise.

Meet Ove. He's a curmudgeon - the kind of man who points at people he dislikes as if they were burglars caught outside his bedroom window. He has staunch principles, strict routines, and a short fuse. People call him "the bitter neighbor from hell". But behind the cranky exterior there is a story and a sadness.

Historia
Like a well-crafted stage play, Just Passin' Thru delivers one suspenseful scene after another. But in this historic setting a store on the Appalachian Trail called Mountain Crossings the characters who show up are no fictional creations. Like any good drama, there are the good guys (and gals) and the weirdos, too. Some show up once (and that’s enough), and some appear again and again. But all are united by two things: the author’s story-capturing talent, and whatever it is that lures them to attempt (or conquer) a 2,200-mile path that climbs and plummets from Georgia to Maine.
