Historia
Nyx was born Hollow. An empty vessel in a world of spirits. Normally, that was a death sentence, yet somehow he survived. He's always been stubborn like that. He's also always been a bit crazy. Which is why, in another life, he did something reckless. He sent himself a message—his memories. Threw them into the Flow from which all spirits return. Besides, Nyx believed in asking hard questions. Like, was reincarnation real?

11 hrs in and just can't take it anymore
Revisado: 12-15-24
I tried. I really tried to get into this book. The story keeps forgetting it's purpose. The main character is all over the place and difficult to follow his motivation. The leveling is difficult to follow, to the point that I just don't care. It started to improve when he enters another world, but that's so boring even the author had nothing to add as they would skip days or weeks of their activities with little to nothing to show for it. This would only lead you into another boring encounter. Also, I may be petty, but the dialog is just full of earth references that this character should have absolutely no knowledge of! He talks about interior design, but lives in a friggen hut in some backwoods magical land. Come on, don't take me out of his reality by making off beat comments just to be "whity". 11 hours I can't get back.

Historia
Julian wants more than anything to be like every other kid—skateboard, hang out with friends, have sleepovers, and tease his little brother and sister. But Julian has a special gift, one which, to him, feels more of a curse. In his dreams, he is visited by spirits who tell him things—sometimes very important things. He has called these “tell-you” dreams since he was little, and he knows now to keep them secret, ever since one such dream came true when the little Mendes girl down the street was murdered in her basement.

Historia
He doesn't want to destroy the world. Problem is, he's an Apocalypse. Zeke and his friends are enjoying the city when suddenly, the apocalypse begins. Which one? ALL OF THEM. Lucky (or unlucky) enough to be chosen as an apocalypse himself, Zeke sets off to [Devour] his way to the top! It wouldn't be so bad, but his best friend's out to kill him, that rock has a gun, and everything, literally everything, has gone to hell. Zeke just came out here to have a good time, and honestly, he's feeling so attacked right now.

To much too fast?
Revisado: 02-28-24
To me, it was just so much ridiculousness all hitting you at once. I love the fresh concept of an apocalypse, but not the inanimate objects taking in concepts. Personally, if it had just stuck to people and animals it would have been more enjoyable.

When Phac finds himself in a world of magic, monsters, and blue screens, he must fight tooth and nail to survive. Unfortunately, falling into an overpowered crab nest doesn’t help. Neither does homemade quicksand under his boots. Worst of all, a snarky blue screen insists on calling him “Phac.”

Revisado: 02-15-24
Good series and series of adventures. I enjoyed the characters and found it difficult to predict all that would happen. Some humor and Easter eggs thrown in to keep things interesting. If I had one complaint, it is that the purpose was never explained. Trying not to give much away, but there are 2 main worlds. Our world and the one they visit as "lost" people when they sleep. We never know why or how this started or to what end goal.

It's alright
Revisado: 01-24-24
Not sure I'll continue the series. The story basis is interesting enough to potentially keep going, but there are issues that are hard to get past. The biggest is the super annoying dog. Yes, donut can go there too in DC, but the whine/howling just cuts right through me. Second, Brad is supposed to be an experienced gamer, yet he treats his own menu, skills and over all game play like a nub. Very simple concepts such as inventory baffle him. There are other aspects of the game world that are just not easily explained that I just can't discuss without spoilers.

Eva Kavinsky wakes in a dark cellar, with no memory of how she got here. Imprisoned with her, seemingly at random, are four men. The only way out is the trapdoor in the ceiling – and it's locked. The single clue about what brings them all here is a cryptic message sprayed onto one wall. Connect the dots. Repent. A camera fixed high above reach is livestreaming this whole nightmare to the world. What confessions are they meant to make to their unseen audience?

Audible originals having a comeback!
Revisado: 12-24-23
I was begi9to believe most Audible originals were no good. Now, second time in a row I'm very pleased. Good story, build up and a mystery. Solid production and actors. I recommend if you like thrillers.

I just can't take it anymore
Revisado: 12-12-23
After getting 13 hours into this 16hr book I just can't finish. I kept holding on hoping it would build the story instead of physically building the character, but it just wouldn't happen. The majority of the book is from a wolf's point of view when he becomes awakened and finds he can manipulate his physicality, which is fine. However, that's like 75% of the book! If you like constant narration (good by the way) about how to alter your body to be better with instinctive understanding, this is for you. There is another character that we recklessly join her POV on occasion, but you shouldn't be switching POV during the same (and God help me, sometimes backtracking) I point in time. It messes with the story flow. One last thing. How does a wolf know what Pneumatics are but struggles understanding basic words? I really wanted to finish, but I had to end the torture.

Revisado: 07-23-23
Listening to the first 3 hours, I kept thinking I was missing some big story, but the book shows it is the first book. However, the exact same book on Amazon shows it is Book 5 in the World of Magic series. What's going on? The performance is great. I'd look for him again.

Historia
An AI calling itself Schema has assimilated Earth into its System. As a consequence, everyone gained access to status screens, power-ups, and skills. This AI turned these concepts from fiction to fact. It's easy to become intoxicated with leveling up and becoming stronger. To some, it's too good to be true, like living out a dream. For Daniel, however, it's closer to a nightmare.

Stick with it
Revisado: 06-12-23
It takes a couple hours for the book to find its flow. The beginning of the book is all power leveling and no dialog. Listening to Stat screens every 5-10 mins w little variable gets frustrating when listening. Once the story finds meaning, there is more dialog, though this is still a little shallow. By the time the.ook is complete, I am ready to find out what is next. The narrator does a good job. I only wish they would find a better way to go over stats like other LitRPGs out there. Tell me what changed, don't read a full Stat sheet.

Good story
Revisado: 05-22-23
Ignore the review about the jump in the storyline from book 1-2. It was clearly written by so that didn't finish the first few hours of book 2. Good story with interesting character. I would like to see some more character development of the companions. I am planning to carry on to the next story and hope that gets better.
