A compelling new reality
Revisado: 11-12-24
If even one percent of this story is true, we are not only in an exciting time, but it’s mind blowing. I had the opportunity to meet Dr. Brown at a conference eight years ago, which is how I found his book. He is a sincere and thoughtful person. I’m so glad I finally got a chance to read his book! I have no doubt there is truth in the concepts he expresses herein. It’s great reading for anybody on the journey to understand our reality and our possible future.

It’s 1984, and life has changed beyond recognition. Airstrip One, formerly known as Great Britain, is a place where Big Brother is always watching, and nobody can hide. Except, perhaps, for Winston Smith. Whilst working at the Ministry of Truth, rewriting history, he secretly dreams of freedom. And in a world where love and sex are forbidden, where it’s hard to distinguish between friend and foe, he meets Julia and O’Brien and vows to rebel.

Like being teleported into a rich world of grit and color
Revisado: 11-16-23
This was just awesome. I intended to listen a few times on my way to work to spread it over a week or so but binged it in one sitting. It was just so good with thoughtful plot and layers of deceit and stunning sound design and voice performance. Dominic Monaghan is obviously an accomplished film actor but his role as Moriarty is just wow. It’s also a fun reimaginatiom to paint Sherlock Holmes as a little bit of a gritty, cocky, Brit, while the good professor sounds more like the queens English, but is a mastermind of the most prolific crime. They’re both bad guys and it’s SO great. Part III please.

Historia
How will artificial intelligence affect crime, war, justice, jobs, society, and our very sense of being human? The rise of AI has the potential to transform our future more than any other technology - and there's nobody better qualified or situated to explore that future than Max Tegmark, an MIT professor who's helped mainstream research on how to keep AI beneficial.

thoughtful sobering and optimistic
Revisado: 06-19-23
I would go as far to say this book will greatly benefit humanity. And, we need that — especially for automous AI weapon systems in the near term and whether or not AI is pro-humanity to achieve its goals in the long term. The, “value of LIFE” in its definition relative to the, “newfound (furrier) potential consciousness of computers” debates almost go out the window in contrast with the prospect that the tech (sentient or not) could do great harm to all species. I wish as a non-tech industry citizen I could contribute in some way beyond signing petitions.

Historia
Charlie Reade looks like a regular high school kid, great at baseball and football, a decent student. But he carries a heavy load. His mom was killed in a horrific accident when he was seven, and grief drove his dad to drink. Charlie learned how to take care of himself—and his dad. When Charlie is seventeen, he meets a dog named Radar and her aging master, Howard Bowditch, a recluse in a big house at the top of a big hill, with a locked shed in the backyard. Sometimes strange sounds emerge from that shed.

slow to start but worth the investment!
Revisado: 03-06-23
I thoroughly enjoyed this whimsical tale. Like many King books they are slow to start but that’s required to establish the protagonist character and allow the reader to develop feelings for their wellbeing and gain insight into their character. It all pays off as Fairy Tail guides us with measured suspense in a satisfying and entertaining multi-day read. Makes me wonder if King will venture further into the idea of multi-verse realities and maybe explore UAP themes as they’re topical as of late. Would recommend this book but give it at least two weeks to complete. I loved Seth’s narration.

It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror. As Princess Diana was laid to rest, billions wondered what Prince William and Prince Harry must be thinking and feeling—and how their lives would play out from that point on.

Sincere account and wonderful memoir
Revisado: 01-22-23
I can’t recommend this enough. Some have criticized the author as whiny and privileged but Prince Harry takes us with him to walk in his shoes and allow us to truly understand the peril the press and monarchy has put on he and his family. It’s a lesson to us all about greed, ethics and love. Kudos.

Historia
In a time when our political and cultural views feel more polarized than ever, Tyson provides a much-needed antidote to so much of what divides us, while making a passionate case for the twin chariots of enlightenment—a cosmic perspective and the rationality of science. After thinking deeply about how science sees the world and about Earth as a planet, the human brain has the capacity to reset and recalibrates life’s priorities, shaping the actions we might take in response. No outlook on culture, society, or civilization remains untouched.

Interesting, but
Revisado: 11-05-22
It was a nice and basic intro into cosmic wonderings and may inspire a future generation of astrophysics. I hope it does. only critique is that the passages at times felt preachy and at others felt like personal venting sessions. I enjoyed it and it was a window it to the author’s personal feelings on the universe.

What a compelling and gritty journey!
Revisado: 07-18-22
What a gritty time it was in the crack era of the 80s/90s. The vibe is captured perfectly and Ethan Hawke knocks it dead in this police drama. There’s love, lust, greed, suspense, action and tragedy. There are no winners here on any front, but in the end of this story as old as Eve deserves a trophy for its acting, SOUND DESIGN(!), and woven thriller of a story.

Revisado: 07-17-22
I absolutely loved the storytelling and it’s sound design! I was transported to the 19th century with the atmospheric effects. It was delicious. Dominic Monaghan was THE PERFECT Moriarty. I can not WAIT for a season 2! The cliff hanger — literally — was terrific. Great plot twists and turns. There are audiobooks and then there are Treefort productions. A+++
