Historia
The Little Way of Ruthie Leming follows Rod Dreher, a Philadelphia journalist, back to his hometown of St. Francisville, Louisiana (pop. 1,700) in the wake of his younger sister Ruthie's death. When she was diagnosed at age 40 with a virulent form of cancer in 2010, Dreher was moved by the way the community he had left behind rallied around his dying sister, a schoolteacher. He was also struck by the grace and courage with which his sister dealt with the disease that eventually took her life.

Simple, beautiful telling of his younger sister’s life and impact
Revisado: 08-28-21
A beautiful story of simplicity, yet powerful love and kindness to her fellow human beings. One person makes such a difference, sometimes unknowingly. The author explores what family, dedication, and his quest for his own individuality means. This may sound like a ho-hum description, but the way you will feel after listening to this book is a feeling you won’t forget. It will change you. In a kinder, less selfish, more compassionate way. I think anyone would like to think their sibling could write such a beautiful tribute to them as this is from Rod Dreher.

Moving, inspiring, convicting
Revisado: 03-11-21
I will listen to this book again, soon, and once a year after for the rest of my life. Not many books rate that revisiting. My fellow believers have shared their stories, they have changed mine going forward. The author writes in an honest, revealing way. His true questions regarding his belief in God’s power in this present time are not sugar-coated, lending credence to his conclusions after spending so much time listening to the persecuted. The narrator has done a simple, clear, and easily heard job of reading this book. A treasure in my library. I highly recommend owning this book, Believer in Jesus or not.

Inspiring story of bravery
Revisado: 11-15-20
This incredible biography of Roddy Edmonds, written by his son, Chris Edmonds, is a true story that will stick with me for the rest of my life. Roddy Edmonds’s incredible courage and bravery, coupled with his faith in God,Is so moving. This book also Chronicles the lives of the men he served with in the POW camps. The details of the POW’s experiences at the hands of their German captors is sometimes difficult to listen to, but not over done. The reader does an excellent job of helping me to feel the excitement of the coming liberation of the camp. I had tears in my eyes just listening to this. The closing of the book highlights how important every human being’s actions make a difference in the lives of others, with an update on each of the POW’s after the war. So moving. An historical, yet personal account of our World War II veterans. I am glad I purchased this book.
