This is a radio play and I enjoyed the production. I found the sound cues to be intuitive and the story easy to follow. The voice actors are great and the production is clear.

If you are expecting the Sherlock and Watson from Conan Doyle then you will be as disapointed as I. I suffered through Watson being co-dependant on Holme's approval in whining about Holmes not explaining his plans. I mean really? By this time Watson should understand how things work. This made Watson very unlikeable. Then Holmes turns into a weak defensive character and that was the last straw for me - I quit listening. I did get 3.5 hours into the story mostly because I liked the performances but ultimately the main characters were not who they were supposed to be and I couldnt get past that.
If you are a Sherlock Holmes fan skip this one and avoid the frustration. If you like radio plays then you may like it anyway.

I enjoyed the story but it seems like it got a bit out of hand. it is definitely not as tight as the Martian. Rosario (the reader) did a fantastic job.

Sabriel is a great character. Through out the book she grows with the situations. I think her character is well written and her emotions seem real.

Where does The Riddle rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I love this series and I have read all the books. I got the audiobook as something familiar to listen to on a long drive and I thought it would be nice to revisit the story. The story is as good as ever but I did not like the narrator's voice. It was too breathy and that often brought me out of the story.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Hem - is my favorite in the series.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Eloise Oxer?

I will probably finish out the rest of the books because I like the story so much. Apart from that I will avoid books read by Ms. Oxer

What did you love best about Old Man's War?

The characters are very enjoyable. John Perry is someone that is easy to like. I liked that Scalzi added a lot of humor to the story that lightened up the mood. Whether it was "Smart Blood (trade mark)" or the names of their brain pals.

What did you like best about this story?

The story also flows well. Im also glad that Scalzi doesnt try to make the future seem to realistic by explaining everything. Ultimately this story is about the people who are in a futuristic place - not about how cool that place is.

What about William Dufris’s performance did you like?

His reading of the story is very professional and I find his voice easy to listen to. the construct of the story's dialog leads to a number of "he said" or "she said". I only point it out because it is noticeable.

Any additional comments?

I cant stress enough how much I enjoyed this book. Its hard to pick out the best things because so much is good. If you dont hate books about the future you will love this book.
