Tori grew up in the foster care system, a bi-racial child in a confusing and volatile world. Growing up with a mentally ill mother and living in twelve different foster homes, nothing was in her favor. And yet, even with a miniscule chance of graduating college and a great risk of being homeless, jobless, and on drugs, Tori overcame every negative stereotype that attacked her. However, Tori will tell you she did not overcome. Christ did.

Transparency

Love her frank transparency from beginning to end. She gives a trigger warning at the beginning and shares so many details that help paint the whole picture in a very helpful way.
No one agrees with everything someone else has to say, and I disagree with her opinion on foster care stipends. I'm glad it was enough for her family, but many of us are going in the red month after month year after year taking care of foster kids with extreme needs.
The rest was very helpful and written so well! As a foster mom to 30ish and adopting 9, I resonated with so much that she said. I'm glad the system in my state hasn't been quite as restrictive as hers. That sounded miserable and I'm glad it is changing.
So proud of her transparency, vulnerability, and growth. Keep it up!
