Narrator sounds like a news reporter

I really love Kiersten Modglin books, but this narrator reads this story in a news reporter voice and I just don't know if I can finish this one. 😭

Just meh
Revisado: 11-11-23
I couldn't even finish this one. The initial concept seemed interesting but the story is soooo slow moving and the main character is just a weird mix of boring (inactive?) and unlikeable. I get that the premise is that he's suicidal so of course he's going to be disenchanted by his life, his wife etc. but that glum, depressive tone just wears on you. There is a very small element of mystery - why did the woman run in front of his car? but even that wasn't enough to keep me listening, which says a lot because I have a weird thing about finishing every book I start even if they suck.

One of top 2 Freida McFadden novels
Revisado: 09-26-23
I have listened to almost all of Freida McFadden's books and she's the queen of plot twists. This and the Housekeeper's Secret were fantastic in my opinion. I felt myself really connecting with some of the characters and loved how each person's perspective deepened the plot twists.
