Historia
Taken from my old life with little memory of what brought me here, I wake up in a high tech capsule. A wrinkly old elf tells me that my soul is incomplete and has been fused with that of a Solar Dragon to give me a second chance at life. Where? When? An urban metropolis filled with fantasy races, erected atop the back of a giant asteroid. Meteoropolis. And millions of years in the future, to boot. But that's not all. I've got super powers, too. To add to the excitement, I end up hosted by an anxious unicorn elf named Pinky Peach who is basically a professional gamer girl.

Very Entertaining
Revisado: 02-13-25
First off, Alyssa Poon does such a phenomenal job! Great voice actress! Really brought the characters to life and I was able to easily and very confidently know which customer was speaking by the voice in all 6 books. very consistent. The story was intriguing and highly entertaining. The only thing that I didn't really like was that they didn't age mentally. It doesn't matter if they lived thousands of years or even millions of years, they still acted like middle teens/early 20s. There was no mental growth. There was character growth, don't get me wrong....but it just lacked the sense of agelessness that the world seemed like it should have. Oh, and the whole dude-bro mentality of all of the male characters was kind of off-putting. To be fair though, this is nit-picking just because it prevented me from immersing myself to that next level of engagement in the story. The story line and actual plot of the story was good, in my opinion.

Historia
Strange things can be said of the forest that spans the border of two kingdoms long at war. An evil sorcerer has made it his dominion, or an elegant enchantress has claimed it as her domain and grants wishes to those who chance upon her, or maybe the forest is guarded by an ancient and wrathful spirit. But Katya calls the forest home, living a life of magic and charms with her partner Ivan. But a threat looms over their forest, some darkness and danger that Ivan swears to protect her from.

toned down

It feels like there was some energy missing. Not sure if it was the writing or voice acting. voice actor seemed good, just overall a consistent mellow atmosphere. it was a good story though. Worth the listen.

Pulled me in

good book with good narration. I don't think there was anything that kicked me out of the story in my head while listening to it. I definitely enjoyed how it had a believable cultural significance. it might be hard to grasp how bitter enemies could be allies days later but I can easily see it in this kind of society.

Historia
When Deputy US Marshal Danielle "Danny" Martin was told she'd gotten a promotion, she expected to be leading her own fugitive retrieval team. Instead, she got transferred to Pontian, Florida, of all places, and assigned to a Superhero support detail for Focus, a seemingly immortal superhero who is also one of the most famous lesbian icons on the planet. Bad enough she's got to spend every day working with a woman she's had a crush on since she was five years old, but when she arrives at her new post, things start getting weird.

Enjoyable
Revisado: 12-06-23
I wrote a review that I had to scrap as one of the things I love most about this book would be a spoiler. There are two things I want to say:
1) This book is a great lez-fic, but it certainly isn't one of those "Yuri as a side plot" books....Yuri is about the basis for half of the plot. There isn't a straight person in this thing, which is okay. There is enough co-plot to make the book actually have story, progression, and action. It's actually a pretty good balance.
2) There is a common sci-fi trope that I don't want to spoil, even if you expect it early on in the story. This is done very well and doesn't get hyper-focused on the irrelevancies like most media does. As a non-spoiler example, if the characters get deposited in the forest, most of the time they focus on not messing up the balance of nature. This one focuses on the characters being placed there and them just working their way out. Things will be what were meant to be. It's refreshing.
Worth the read/listen. I will look forward to partaking in the next book.
