Author, Simon Mason, has written a fascinating pair of characters in the two DIs Wilkins. The story is engrossing, complicated enough to keep one guessing, and narrator, Mark Addis, brings everyone (especially the two Ryan Wilkins) to life. Can’t wait for another book about these people!

I’m not normally a science fiction fan, but I ordered this book because Ray Porter performs it.
There was a lot of science that caused my attention to wander slightly at times, but the overall writing was delightful, and Ray’s inflections kept me as engrossed as the text. A really fun read. Fist bump!

Main character makes one ridiculous, unbelievable choice after another

I rarely write bad reviews. I just move on to another book, but this one leaves me resentful of my wasted purchase and time. I knew early on that the characters’ behaviors were wildly unrealistic, but I hung in to hear who dunnit. Wasn’t worth doing. If you’re a fan of magazine-quality, sort of romance writing, this book is for you. Otherwise, find a worthwhile book.

Interesting information-writing not great

It was interesting to learn about the Signal Corps women who ran wartime switchboard communications, but the level of writing was that of a story in a ladies’ magazine. Stayed to hear how things turned out, but the writing was amateurish & predictable.
