If you haven't been living under a rock the last 10 years don't waste your time. It seems the author is a great scientist and researcher but she should have written this book years ago, because she has not added anything to this conversation. Any of Cal Newports books, for example, are better and he has multiple books now over the years addressing these issues.

Just another meditation book

Given the title I thought this book would provide a more nuanced response to religion, then just simply, leave religion behind and meditate. I enjoy my meditation practice and have gotten a lot from it but it is just one spiritual aspect that one can practice. If expecting to provide an alternative to religion I would think you may want to discuss a larger tool kit then just meditate. Also Sam's voice was little hard for me to understand, but listening at .90 helped.

This book is idealistic and a odd illustration of why wanting more money is good (no shit). I think this book may be more suited towards college aged women instead of a 30 something black woman. I'm sure the author reserves the actual concrete methods of achieving financial wealth to wealthy-ish people who can afford her expensive fees....
oh well. get yo money sis. I just wish I could get a refund.

I have not read any of Dr. Cone's other books yet but I have watched several of his speeches on YouTube where I became aware of his material and some of his thoughts. In an odd way this book seems like the perfect place to start Reading his books because he now has hindsight that gives context to his previous writings and where he stands today and what he has learned since writing his previous books. Although audible only has one other book of his I am looking forward to purchasing hard copies of his earlier work!

Just another positive talk book but with cussing

This book was no different than any self-help, positive thinking book that I've read before and it wasn't as good as some of those. The author keeps saying that this isn't a positive thinking book and then goes on to talk about how you need to think positive or be relentless without providing much else than fluffy talk masked with cussing to make it seem more hardcore I guess.
