But she's old, and being part of a standing fleet, Kydd's chances of further fame and distinction are slim indeed.

A change of pace and a breath of fresh air

Taking Kydd away from everyone he met along his journey, putting him into a new ship that's hostile towards him makes for a breath of fresh air and puts Kydd where his character is strongest.

A joy to be back in the Caribbean

I deeply enjoyed this installment of the Kydd series but the performance seems to be missing something from the previous books and the voices have changed somewhat. Perhaps it's just me?
