Historia
In Cowgirl Power, advertising CEO and cowgirl Gay Gaddis shares insights and examples for women to lead like fearless, risk-taking cowgirls: enhance and exude confidence, developing personal power on all fronts. As the owner of one of the largest female-owned independent agencies in the U.S. and former chairman of C200, one of the country’s top women’s business organizations, Gay Gaddis knows a thing or two about empowerment. Gay’s secrets of success have roots in the spirited strength of real cowgirls who were fearless risk-takers in everything they did.

Love the premise. Good advice but must get beyond the delivery.
Revisado: 03-18-20
I love the premise of this book but it was a little bit difficult to listen to at first because so much of the initial content was spent on talking about her accomplishments
I have no problem with her Texas twang, but her delivery did seem a bit forced at times. However keep listening as it really is worthwhile and there is a lot of good advice and good pointers in this book.
Having grown up on a ranch and been a cowgirl all my life, this book held a special interest for me. I have also been a small business owner and entrepreneur for more than 25 years so it was doubly important. For those of us who have that cowgirl mentality, this book is a fabulous affirmation of what we do well and correctly.
Bottom line, I do strongly recommend this book.

Historia
You work hard. You put in the hours. Yet, you feel like you are constantly treading water with "good work" that keeps you going but never quite moves you ahead. Or worse, you are mired in "bad work" - endless meetings and energy-draining bureaucratic traps. Do More Great Work gets to the heart of the problem: Even the best performers are spending less than a fraction of their time doing "great work" - the kind of innovative work that pushes us forward, stretches our creativity, and truly satisfies us.

Simplistic and basic.
Revisado: 02-17-20
I was hopeful for this book but it was very simplistic, basic and had nothing new that one would not know from basic planning and goal setting. I also thought the narrator was “talking down” and so found it hard to listen to. Stopped halfway through the book.

Historia
More than 50 years since the passage of the Equal Pay Act, the wage gap still hovers at 80 percent, and only five percent of CEOs in the Fortune 500 are women. Today, rising up the ranks in many companies still often means cutthroat, win-at-all-costs tactics, where being the loudest voice in the room is more important than being the person with the best ideas for moving the company forward. Not surprisingly, most women don’t want to play this game.

Great read; really good message. Keep an open mind.
Revisado: 09-19-19
I really did enjoy this book and felt like it had a great message. However, if you are a fan of Lean In (as I am), this book might be difficult for you to listen to at the onset because it is such a stark contrast to that book and its message. Marissa also uses Lean In as an example many times to illustrate what is wrong, and that can get a little repetitive. She can sometimes come across as bitter and victimized in the early chapters. However once you get beyond that and listen to the message that she has and the point she is trying to make in this book, it really is excellent and in my mind, exceptionally valid. I would highly recommend the book.

Not worth the time or money. Very disappointed
Revisado: 06-10-19
I was very disappointed in this book. The content was nothing new to me or my business and there was nothing of value that I gained from it. I found Mr. Ramsey’s delivery to be arrogant, self-righteous and sarcastic, which detracted from the content and message. I also found his message to be laced over and over with chauvinist examples that I found to be silly and without purpose, other than to drive home his tone of arrogance and gender superiority. As a small business owner who has been successful for more than 25 years, I am constantly looking for ways to improve my leadership and our business. This book did nothing to further either.
