Historia
Beyond the stars, two gods vie for rule of the world. One stands for Nature - the belief that everything is stamped in flesh from the start. The other, Nurture - the belief that all is potential, that the true self is coaxed out through love and living. And so, they take a bet. Each immortal selects a set of twins as their champions. The twins that prevail in contest will decide which immortal rules.

I really liked the story, but…
Revisado: 10-12-21
I did really enjoy this story, and the narrator was wonderful! The idea of nature vs. nurture is a subject I find really interesting, although if you think about in terms of this story, both sets of twins were nurtured, only one was set was nurtured by strangers they met in their travels. Anyway, I only gave the story 4 stars because I loved it up until the end. It ended abruptly, and left me wanting more closure, or at least an epilogue. Something.

Historia
Reese Conlon’s much anticipated family leave is only two weeks away, and nothing is going to stand in the way of her being at her wife’s side for the upcoming birth—not even the summer crowds in Provincetown, a new rookie cop with a hero complex, and a cruise ship at anchor in the harbor with a reported outbreak of a mysterious illness.

Why, just why?!
Revisado: 07-08-21
I haven’t actually finished this one yet. I will, but it will take a bit because it’s just a little painful. I have listened to all the other books in this series and have become pretty vested in the story line and characters. But why on earth did they have to change the narrator for the last book? Maybe I was just use to the original narrator, but this change is just horrible. All the characters now seem old, tired, or hung over. It’s hard to listen to. If this wasn’t the last in the series I would have given up in the first chapter.
