Historia
1897. Rowena Blythe is wealthy, entitled and beautiful. As her twenty-fourth birthday approaches, she’s expected to marry—and to marry well. Her parents commission a portrait of Rowena to help cement her reputation as a great society beauty. However, Bartek, the artist’s young assistant, is unlike any man Rowena has met before—wild, romantic and Bohemian. While society at large awaits the announcement of Rowena’s engagement, it is Bartek who captures Rowena’s heart along with her likeness.

I enjoyed it. This kept me very interested. I didn’t want to like Rowena but she evolved and became good. And olive is the best character.

Not my favorite Tracy Rees novel
Revisado: 12-13-23
The narration was amazing but the story seems to drag on for me. It was chapters and chapters of these two characters that we do not see the connection until the very end. I loved Amy Snow and Florence Grace and their narrations. Excellent but this book was a bit of a dread for me that even when characters connected it was too late for me to be excited about it. I have Tracy’s The Little Christmas House book ready to go. Tracy does have a gift for writing with such intricate descriptions. I will keep reading her.

Historia
Pursuing the healthiest version of you means learning to love the reflection in the mirror, and Jennifer Wagner understands this all too well. From looking at her today, you wouldn’t know that she used to weigh 336 pounds. During her 16-year health and wellness journey, she has felt the deep anguish of torment from peers and strangers, let the scale dictate her moods, and cried herself to sleep all because of her "imperfect" body. But ultimately, Jennifer realized that to overcome the overwhelming negative feelings about her body, she needed to start with her mind....

A much needed read today in our culture of perfect
Revisado: 02-05-23
Jennifer is open, honest and vulnerable about her weight loss journey. What inspiration that challenges me to accept my body AS IS. This book opened my heart to begin to let go of perfectionism and embrace the beautiful body I was given.

Historia
Alcoholism, drug abuse, and similar destructive practices can render families dysfunctional. When the children of these families become adults, they sometimes develop self-defeating survival tactics, such as low self-esteem or an obsession with controlling another person's behavior. To help those stuck in codependent cycles identify and eliminate such troubling issues from their relationships, Beattie shares wisdom gained from years of experience.

Amazing book and encouragement
Revisado: 02-14-19
Melody Beattie is the expert and covers all aspects of Co-dependency and encourages recovery. We ALL need help with this life and our difficult relationships and loving and caring for ourselves. I highly recommend this book and all her books on Co-Dependency. She’s been there and has lived it. The reader is very enjoyable to listen to.
