Historia
With courage, grace, and powerful insight, bestselling author Kristin Hannah captures the epic panorama of World War II and illuminates an intimate part of history seldom seen: the women's war. The Nightingale tells the stories of two sisters, separated by years and experience, by ideals, passion and circumstance, each embarking on her own dangerous path toward survival, love, and freedom in German-occupied, war-torn France—a heartbreakingly beautiful novel that celebrates the resilience of the human spirit and the durability of women. It is a novel for everyone, a novel for a lifetime.

Oh wow!
Revisado: 11-12-20
I’ve listened to many, many stories and books about this era... this story is so meaningful... well presented... this one was a real keeper... I’m not a regular reviewer though I’m a regular listener... this book is very well worth it! I just wish I could know that I could be so brave....

Maybe the story is ok... can’t follow due to narration
Revisado: 11-15-18
What a horrible narrator! His voice and reading just does not suit the story... I can’t even follow it... I’m not finishing the book.

Historia
Nicola Marter was born with a gift. When she touches an object, she sometimes glimpses those who have owned it before. When a woman arrives with a small wooden carving at the gallery Nicola works at, she can see the object’s history and knows that it was named after the Firebird - the mythical creature from an old Russian fable. Compelled to know more, Nicola follows a young girl named Anna who leads her into the past on a quest through the glittering backdrops of the Jacobites and Russian courts, unearthing a tale of love, courage, and redemption.

Fiction, History, Romance, a little fantasy...
Revisado: 08-19-13
Yes, this one did it...I like stories that capture a little history, a little romance, ok, a little fantasy i.e.; time travel or esp...yes, this one captured me. Ok, it may have been a bit predictable, but there were no vampires (thankfully) and it was not written for teenagers...I really liked it - I'd like more like this one...pure escapism

Not a Thriller...
Revisado: 09-10-12
This story was long on detail and short on story-line...too many words for too little action and the voice was boring. I was disappointed.

A Rainy Weekend...a good listen...
Revisado: 09-04-12
This was a good read (listen) for a rainy weekend...not a riviting story, but comfortable..I particularly like Davina Porter (the reader), her accents and voices for the various characters really make them come alive...the story itself was interesting enough to keep me listening, but the story line was pretty formulary.
