Great story, slow burn but worth it

Great story, enjoyable narrator. slow burn, but when it starts, hot hot, hot. Hot corporate woman meets a lethario musician, of course it's love.

Love the story!
Revisado: 02-13-25
I love the story. Unfortunately I don't like the narrator. Voice tones are not well defined, it feels like a librarian reading a book with little emotion. Love scene read with little heat.

It felt so real
Revisado: 02-02-25
Real life meets fiction. I fell in love with Hollis and Rawley, too. How they were there for each other while still working through their own stuff is amazing. Just how I wish real life would work

Historia
Neve Blackthorne, head of one of the most successful Studios in Hollywood, is the one to rule them all. Powerful, beautiful, and aloof, she's ruthless, yet irresistible. Above all, she has an unquenchable survival instinct. Surely a fleeting entanglement with one Audrey Avens, a bright, young, rising star in her company, won't bring down the Wicked Queen of Tinseltown. Or will it? Neve's public persona has no chink in the untouchable armor, but when the lights go out and the cameras stop rolling, what becomes of an Ice Queen whose heart is ruled by love and fear?

Holy cow
Revisado: 08-28-24
Ice queen extraordinaire! Oh, man, if you'd ever wondered about what was behind an ice queen's veneer this is the book for you. Most of the genre have you seeing from the other woman's point of view but not this one. From being in the therapist's office with Neve to the absolutely self=destructive way she lives her life, it's all there. So DEEP. And to actually be cheering for her by the end. Milena McKay is amazing. Her storytelling is awesome and the way she gets those emotions and really makes you feel something is unmatched. Oh and Abby Craden, sigh, I wish the voice in my head sounded like her. She's my absolute favorite narrator.

Revisado: 06-30-24
Holy cow, Lee Winter can make me crush on a fictional character like no other. Goodness, give me a minute while I fan myself. Story is great! Right when you're thinking one thing, nope, plot twist. And to make an assassin not only crave able but, I dare say, lovable is some really great writing.

Great book
Revisado: 06-09-24
I just wanted to hug Stella the first half of the book. I loved the real life feel of it; you have feelings for someone but it takes a while for it to all work out. On that note, about 6 hours into the book I thought "if these two aren't knocking boots by the end of this book, so help me" But it's ok, that takes a while too but worth the wait. Anastasia Watley could read me a phone book and I would enjoy it. Dreamy sigh

Such a story!
Revisado: 03-31-23
Holy cow. Amazing. Not your typical fluffy romance. This author definitely knows how to put some meat in her stories. The characters are very well developed. I fell in love with all of them. Just can't get over how good of a storyteller the author is. Right when you think you know what's going to happen, there's a curve. At least three times as I was listening I had a quick intake of breath and "ohhhhh". The love scenes were amazing. Hot! And the narrator, Abby Craden, well, come on, she could read a phone book and make it sound sexy. Will surely be listening to this one over and over.

Historia
Stockbroker Isabelle Rhodes has a lot of money, a lot of trust issues, and a whole lot of reasons to believe her ex-girlfriend was right when she said that Isabelle sucked at relationships. With that accusation stuck in her head, Isabelle throws caution to the wind and dives into her first one-night stand. Checking that off her bucket list should be something to celebrate - except it turns out that the woman she just spent an earth-shattering night with is actually her newly hired company pilot, Audrey Graham. Ms. Never-See-You-Again just turned into Ms. See-You-Constantly.

Ok, I thought this book was just plain hot. Loved the main character being a woman in a powerful position but also down to earth. And the love interest is a motorcycle riding pilot?!? Yes, please. Abby Craden is swoon worthy in my opinion, and add an accent.....be still my heart.

Actual laugh out loud moments with the awww
Revisado: 11-30-21
I read one other Robin Alexander book which I found hilarious and wondered if this one would be as good. It really is. Ok, so with the slightly heavy basic topic of the book (breakup, cheating, dating again), one wouldn't think that would be a laugh out loud book. But really is. Ryan's sister had me laughing almost from the moment she appears in the book. Ryan on a high from energy drinks also was a big highlight. Payton's instant attraction to Ryan is so sweet it causes all the warm squishy feelings . Oh, almost forgot the girlfriend who spoke in cartoon voices, predominantly a squirrel. Need I say more? Lol

Which is why finding herself back in her hometown - in her childhood bedroom, no less - has the normally upbeat Iris feeling a bit down and out. Her spirits get a much-needed lift, though, at the sight of the sexy girl next door.

Easy to follow, good story, laugh out loud moments
Revisado: 08-15-21
Easy story to get into, especially if you have the experience of having to return to live with your parents like Iris. The next door neighbor is a motorcycle riding, loner with a wall up around her heart. The chemistry is immediate, but....... You're heart will break for a love lost and it'll beat a little harder for a growing lust between the characters. Some memorable lines: "there she was like a lesbian James Dean". Also, " like shopping for towels, in love." Iris's internal dialogue had me laughing out loud several times. Enjoyable. Will listen to again and again.
