Great Book, but had mixed feeling about the narration.
Revisado: 05-16-18
I loved this book ever since first reading it as a project in high school. I have re-read it 6 times, and this is my first listen via audio book. While Mr. Lister was able to capture a range of voices to fit all the various personalities, his performance of James Blackthorne left a lot to be desired. As the book describes his an an intelligent and sharp captain, Mr. Lister instead made him sound ignorant and unlikeable. His portrayal of this character was a turn off at times, but neither the less it was still an overall enjoyable listen.

Historia
Following Jane from her childhood as an orphan in Northern England through her experience as a governess at Thornfield Hall, Charlotte Brontë's Gothic classic is an early exploration of women's independence in the mid-19th century and the pervasive societal challenges women had to endure. At Thornfield, Jane meets the complex and mysterious Mr. Rochester, with whom she shares a complicated relationship that ultimately forces her to reconcile the conflicting passions of romantic love and religious piety.

Amazing Narration

What did you love best about Jane Eyre?
What a wonderfully written book, once read while I was younger and now retold by Thandie Newton.
What about Thandie Newton’s performance did you like?
Her interpretation of the characters transported me to a stage. Each character's personality was expressed distinctly and expertly. It has risen my thoughts of her acting skills actually.
