Riveting

Just wasn't for sure but couldn't let go. The story had me tied up and twisted and wondering just where the author came from. I cried I laughed expelled a sigh of relief. Readers did an excellent job!

Caught my attention

Thought it was just going to be another one of 'those' and I wouldn't even go for the second book, but it snagged me! I have mundane job and listen at work so 8 to 9 hours I can listen to anything but it doesn't mean I have to get the second book. Well I'm buying the second of this one. It captured my attention it didn't put me in scenes I couldn't believe. I could believe in these characters. Good job Ruby

Great strong book and series but..

Well the ending sucks! There's just no other way to put it otherwise I'd given it a five star. After dumping my heart into Kricket and her struggles its left at the edge of a cliff to dangle in hopes I can let myself either down or climb back up. If you are one of those that invest yourself into the story and you do not want to suffer pain, walk away from this,it hurts to be left just wondering alone.. I'm afraid to invest my heart into anymore of her books.

i'm amazed

I was so intrigued by the blurp and reviews I got the audible and the second book in series, and now I shake my head in amazement, this is a best selling author. Can't be this book. By the 4th chapter I clicked off and went to another book. I kept chastising myself, I bought them I need to give it a better shot. So boring I don't know if I'll ever make it. I kept thinking chapter 22 and there's 51 oh God help me. I made it but I'm sure I'll not do the next one. My problem, ok story says she was beaten, where when I never felt it, I never connected to it. I more or less laughed and thought yeah right you really want me to believe that. Give me more make me feel her pain make me feel anything! The sex/rape was non existent, once again I never felt connected to any of the scenes they were glossed over and skipped over it was like it never happened. If you don't want to write about something so controversial, then don't start the subject. I felt this book was written by an eighty yr old virgin that new nothing of the sub plot subject matter. I know I'm just one and I'm sure many others loved this book but if your looking for depth of the nitty gritty it's not here.

Worst narrator ever

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

NO The narration of this book was the worst ever. Everything had the same mono tone and last word drug out of each sentence. Horrible Horrible Horrible. Would like to try book two but NO. couldn't sit though that again
