I can't believe this story has 4.6 stars for so many reasons. 1. The main character is raped multiple times and within days is falling in love. 2. I am cool with sex scenes but 75% of the book is sex scenes, and not even good ones. 3. The main character within weeks has assimilated and learned a new language in mere weeks? 4. She barely considers her home and real life or how she ended up in that world. 5. She never considers trying to escape? The list could go on.

Ugh, this book was just terrible. It's unfortunate because there is some potential to the story line of this series but it is wasted. This is the 2nd book I've listened to and both times I felt that the main character made a terrible representation of women while falsely presenting them as strong women.

OMG... I love this series and have been gobbling them up! I just started listening to this book and want to scream. This narrator is terrible! I'm sure she would be a good fit for some books, but NOT this series. I will be terribly disappointed if the next book is with this narrator, so disappointed I might not buy it.

Not only is this a great read, but Kate Rudd does an excellent narration. The stories are heart warming and the characters are well developed. I highly recommend this book and am looking forward to reading the prequel.

I really enjoyed this book up until the end, it almost felt like a chapter was missing! I liked that the story was unique and unpredictable. The characters were well built and the narrator did a good job! I would recommend this book!

This trilogy has a good story line and the narrator is also good. The second book just lacks the umph that was in the first. The most annoying part of the book was the abundance of "hells to the yeah" and overuse of "f*&k." Don't get me wrong, I cuss like a sailor, which should give you some perspective on my criticism, but it felt too forced and contrived. Oh and all of the acronyms... ugh... awful... nobody over the age of 10 say BFF or in Charlie's case BAFF. Also, I found Charlie to be really annoying with her "Hell no, we're doing this my way" attitude. Give me a break! Her "boys" (which was annoying also, they are grown men... not "boys") are supposedly experienced combat fighters, etc... why the hell would they listen to some twerp of a girl that doesn't have a clue and reacts before she thinks?!

This story has so much potential... I really hope that book 3 pulls it together.

What did you like best about Tough Justice Series Box Set: Parts 1-8? What did you like least?

Riddles with cliched sayings. Main character spends 90% of the series whining, doubting herself and then telling herself "she can do it!" But yet she tries to act like she has a rep as a bad a$$?! Lame. (Spoiler) Why was her job more important than her child? Why couldn't she just go into witness protection with her child?

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

Narrator reads every line with a subtle drama. I think there was too much emotion infused into just basic sentences.

Do you think Tough Justice Series Box Set: Parts 1-8 needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

no
