Historia
The Earth teems with sights and textures, sounds and vibrations, smells and tastes, electric and magnetic fields. But every kind of animal, including humans, is enclosed within its own unique sensory bubble, perceiving but a tiny sliver of our immense world. In An Immense World, Ed Yong coaxes us beyond the confines of our own senses, allowing us to perceive the skeins of scent, waves of electromagnetism, and pulses of pressure that surround us.

Fascinating information
Revisado: 03-21-23
Having taken biology as my major in college I found most areas discussed easier to read but also illuminating. As a physician, the workings of the senses fascinating as I could relate to disorders and the research around them.

Historia
Baffin Island: Husband-and-wife team Sami and Remi Fargo are on a climate-control expedition in the Arctic, when to their astonishment they discover a Viking ship in the ice, perfectly preserved - and filled with pre-Columbian artifacts from Mexico. How can that be? As they plunge into their research, tantalizing clues about a link between the Vikings and the legendary Toltec feathered serpent god Quetzalcoatl - and a fabled object known as the Eye of Heaven - begin to emerge. But so do many dangerous people.

Great minus the product plugs
Revisado: 08-16-17
Love the stories and the storytelling. The voice of Scott is very easy to listen to. My only hesitation in giving a full five stars is the obvious placement of brand-name products sprinkled strategically throughout the book

Historia
The number one New York Times best-selling story about American Olympic triumph in Nazi Germany, the inspiration for the PBS documentary The Boys of '36, broadcast to coincide with the 2016 Summer Olympics and the 80th anniversary of the boys' gold medal race. Out of the depths of the Depression comes an irresistible story about beating the odds and finding hope in the most desperate of times - the improbable, intimate account of how nine working-class boys from the American West showed the world at the 1936 Olympics in Berlin what true grit really meant.

A real connection
Revisado: 05-17-16
Despite knowing the ending I was still riveted to listening and hoping would they win or not. I have a real connection with the story as both of my children rowed crew and my son went to the university of Washington and rowed for the Huskies.
