Historia
Rusty is a retired judge attempting a third act in life with a loving soon-to-be wife, Bea, with whom he shares both a restful home on an idyllic lake in the rural Midwest and a plaintive hope that this marriage will be his best, and his last. But the peace that’s taken Rusty so long to find evaporates when Bea’s young adult son, Aaron, living under their supervision while on probation for drug possession, disappears. If Aaron doesn’t return soon, he will be sent back to jail.

Much to do about a rope
Revisado: 02-22-25
Good writing but in no way a thriller. Hard to keep listening when you are overwhelmed by repetitious details during the trial. I feel for the jury . I do not know if I can finish it.

Not so gripping
Revisado: 09-27-21
I disagree with the raving reviews. Well written as it is, this story lacks of the usual suspense and the “intelligent” dog’s dialogue is sometimes just too much to be plausible.

The story is too implausible
Revisado: 11-14-20
*It is the first Grisham's book I cannot finish. The story is too implausible. It is well written of course but it leaves too many holes. All I wanted to say is "Oh come on"! This not being a fantasy it sounds like one at times. Only the contrary of what the author narrates could happen in Mississippi!!!
