A great pick me up.
Revisado: 02-23-23
I have listened to Brendan for years. While this is not as in-depth as some of his other books I found great value in it. I listened to it in one day and it was a great reminder of the little things I can do to improve my life. Thank you Brendan!

Historia
When Cora Seaborne's brilliant, domineering husband dies, she steps into her new life as a widow with as much relief as sadness: her marriage was not a happy one. Wed at 19, this woman of exceptional intelligence and curiosity was ill-suited for the role of society wife. Seeking refuge in fresh air and open space in the wake of the funeral, Cora leaves London for a visit to coastal Essex, accompanied by her inquisitive and obsessive 11-year old son, Francis, and the boy's nanny, Martha.

The Essex Serpent

Explores the depths available in friendship between people of different political and philosophical views, people of same and different genders, people of different social, economic, and mental abilities. Profound and beautiful in both human and nature observations. Excellently brought to life by narrator. Deserves a second and third close reading or listening to. Thank you.

I have been wanting to listen to this book for so long. It was worth the wait. My only criticism is I would have loved to have hear this read by Andrew Yang. I understand that he has more important things to focus on at the moment. This book is an example of how he has been working towards a better future for America long before he ever decided to run for president.

Compelling, heartbreaking beautiful story
Revisado: 01-09-19
I have so much admiration for the author after listening to this audio book. Her story is beautiful and heartbreaking. The way she wove her story together is genius. I don’t typically read memoirs, or books that are sad. I also don’t often write reviews on audible. This book moved me and I encourage you to give it a chance. Even though it is heartbreaking there is something there that makes you unable to stop listening. She has a way of making the sad stuff bearable. Excited to read more from this author.
