Even if you've seen the movie, you must read this book... it's so much more! One of my all time forever favorites. Well written, well developed, and well worth the time you'll spend with Henry and Claire.

Amazing Interconnection

I have never understood how people can so easily dismiss the Old Testament and Biblical history as irrelevant to today's culture when they are so interconnected and interdependent. The more I study and research, the more this connection is revealed to me. Everyone should read this book, do their own study, and allow the Holy Spirit to open their minds and hearts to the truth.
Thank you, Jonathan Cahn, for your dedicated and extensive spirit-led research as well as your bold witness. I pray God's continued support, guidance, and protection in your ministry!

Very Helpful

Although I'm still in a great deal of pain, gaining a better perspective on my loved ones pain and struggles as well as my responsibility in the relationships has opened the path forward and provided some direction for me. I should be an expert since I've been experiencing BPD in my life from my earliest awareness., my father, two of my brothers, my husband, and both my children - plus I've provided care for my grandmother and mother in law with Alzheimers.

I've been blaming myself and trying to fix situations and people all my life. I'm finally finding a way to release myself from blame and guilt, realizing nothing can be changed except myself, my thoughts, and my behaviors. I'm planning to reread this book often hoping to successfully navigate a way to love them all and build positive relationships without being destroyed in the process.

Political Nonsence

This could have been an interesting as well as humorously fun mystery had it not been so ridiculously politically motivated... It was difficult to wade through the bias nonsence to focus on the storyline. Since this was my first book by this author, perhaps this represents his writings in which case it will be my last book. As a political independent, I dislike the extremes on both sides of the fence. It does nothing to forward peace and harmony in our culture; quite the opposite, it promotes deeper division and antipathy.... funny or not.

Warm and Touching

This was a delightful story of love and family relationships with a bit of history and intrigue thrown in to pull in and hold the reader.

I definitely recommend reading as the story will not disappoint.

Great Mystery

Loved all the twists and turns...author very adept as time travel! My husband even loved it and he rarely reads female authors (his loss, for sure.)

Enriching

At first, I was doubtful about this novel. The superstitious beliefs, primitive culture and horrific events at the beginning distressed me more than a little...especially knowing they took place later in the 20th century. However, since it was my Book Club selection, I pressed on in spite of wanting to put it aside and was drawn inextricably into the story and lives of the characters.

The author uses her intimate knowledge and understanding of the Chinese culture both past and present to bring a deeper more empathetic understanding to the outside world while weaving a powerful story.

Definitely a culturally enriching read.
