A fun little tale. I like the style this is written in--the main character, Diana, telling a story to the listener about a story that was told to her. The narrator manages to handle the erotica (moans and groans) in a sexy rather than awkward way, which is a true talent.

Weird inconsistencies I can handle--she has to stay with Mom yet she earned enough in a couple of years to PAY OFF a house?

Hating a dude one minute and jumping instantly to loving him the minute he's nice? Fine. Standard romance. Still could have gotten a like out of me.

The bullshit Luke threw at her was unforgivable. I would never want a book heroine to end up with a person who thinks like that. Blaming her for breaking up a home because an addict father--who already signed away his kids--is better than no father? Talking that way to her because she had the audacity to want financial security for herself and her children?

I detest the message this book leaves you with.

This book? This book is a good book. So well written, and so unbelievably human. You'll recognize the days you've spent with your friends here, that perfect banter. You'll recognize the frustration and pain.

The whole story is implausible. I can suspend disbelief but not when I have to do it every other page. I also really disliked the male m/c. His inner dialogue almost verbatim was, "No, she doesn't get a choice about that because I'm sick of waiting."

That's disgusting, but what do you expect from a relationship thay began like theirs did? She screamed at him for breaking her camera and he kissed her. Because that's the pinnacle of sexiness: a guy who takes anything he wants after he's destroyed your stuff.

Plus his random inner thoughts about how he wanted to spank her in punishment. Was that supposed to be kinky? If it had been established that their relationship included spank play, fine. As it is, it sounded like he wanted to beat his wife for things he disagreed with.

Sprinkle in an ample helping of sex shaming, and this wasn't the book for me.

Good narrators though.

Enjoyable enough. Good narrator. The story was a little shallow--no depth to the relationships or the mystery--but it flowed well. Fiesty heroin. “AUDIBLE 20 REVIEW SWEEPSTAKES ENTRY”
