Certainly lives up to what I’d expected when going in! The Supervillain Handbook is thought out and written in a delightfully cheesy and detail-appreciative manner. While many points can be quite wordy with a few too many examples, that honestly adds more to the charm. It’s laid out like a handbook, after all, so Mr. Wilson did a pretty great job accounting for a large variety of scenarios in every case.

Mr. Allen’s narration was similarly comically dramatic, which was certainly intentional, and it fits wonderfully with the writing itself. I don’t recall it being explained why his voice seemed to shift and lose its faux pretentious flair a few times in each chapter. That may have been to read those little “trivia” blurbs in a way that separates them from the main handbook contents, and thinking back, that’s likely all it was.

Regardless, a solid listen for those who seek a good place to start their supervillain lifestyle! …Or just a fun way to fill the air during a smallish road trip, or a quiet afternoon.

For some reason, each episode (chapter) was split into several separate one-part audiobooks... I think? While listening to just this book (all nine parts), I'd earned multiple badges for "finishing an entire book from beginning to end in one session," or something to that effect.

Anyway, great book! A solid story that was performed very well and sequenced great! It did seem like folks were in a rush to tie things up toward the end with a couple of exposition dumps, but I won't criticize that.

I do enjoy how relatable Siobhan's journey was. It seemed like most characters made very human decisions and mistakes, with pleasantly contrasting moments where things were played up for solid comedic effect! A great balance of mystery, comedy, and drama.

Narrated wonderfully by its supposed writer, Ghost Hunters Adventure Club and the Secret of the Grande Chateau is a wonderfully entertaining book absolutely worth the read or listen! Don't expect a universe-shattering tale (or do, I don't care), but certainly be ready for the charm and wit of Dr. Cecil H.H. Mills to razzle--possibly even dazzle!

My audible credit paid for the whole seat, but I only needed the eeeeedge~

What a terrible and wonderful blend of stupid tropey nonsense! The narrator's delivery probably enhanced the experience more than I realized, and I do admire his ability to read it without cracking up. This sorta thing is exactly what I look for in movies, so to get the experience in an audiobook is... Wow, haha
