Historia
Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he's alive - and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Chances are, though, he won't have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or plainold "human error" are much more likely to kill him first.

I just finished listening to this exceptional book for the fifth time. It’s still just as good as the first.

Yet another installment of the the ex-force novels I couldn’t put down. Definitely worth a credit! R. C. Bray is fantastic, as usual, once again.

Historia
William "Wild Bill" Guarnere and Edward "Babe" Heffron were among the first paratroopers of the U.S. Army - members of an elite unit of the 101st Airborne Division called Easy Company. Arguably the bravest, most efficient, physically fit, and tight-knit group of soldiers the Army has ever produced, the unit was called upon for every high-risk operation of the war, including D-Day, Operation Market Garden in Holland, the Battle of the Bulge, and the capture of Hitler's Eagle's Nest in Berchtesgaden.

Think you know everything about Band of Brothers?
Revisado: 06-13-14
This book gives a more individual perspective on the movements of Easy Company that we've seen on screen, but digs deeper into the individual sacrifices, pleasures, aggravations, pain, grief and strength of these soldiers. The end is worth the whole book as they work with the actors who played them in "Band of Brothers".and re-live their war-time actions.

Historia
November 1958, New York. Into the rarefied atmosphere of wealth and tradition at the National Horse Show in Madison Square Garden comes the most unlikely of horses—a drab white former plow horse named Snowman—and his rider, Harry de Leyer. They were the longest of all longshots—and their win was the stuff of legend.

Have you ever ACTUALLY felt your heart swell?
Revisado: 04-18-14
Without being simpering or too sugary you hear the amazing story of a remarkable animal and a post WWII Dutch immigrant who knows how to train and love him. The fact that it's a true story is a bonus because you want this to have really happened! Bronson Pinchot does a great job of narration. If you're in the least inclined toward a good animal/human love story GET THIS BOOK!

Disappointing
Revisado: 01-10-14
Linda Howard has written a couple of my favorite books, but I think she's gone the way of James Patterson - putting her name on books written by novice authors. Either that, or it's a very early book of hers recently released on audio. That would be my mistake. At any rate, don't bother if you're looking for anything more than sexual fluff.

Billy Crystal is 65, and he's not happy about it. With his trademark wit and heart, he outlines the absurdities and challenges that come with growing old, from insomnia to memory loss to leaving dinners with half your meal on your shirt. In humorous chapters like "Buying the Plot" and "Nodding Off," Crystal not only catalogues his physical gripes, but offers a road map to his 77 million fellow baby boomers who are arriving at this milestone age with him. He also looks back at the most powerful and memorable moments of his long and storied life.

still so impressed by other greats in his field and others. He tells one great story after another, chronicling his life. Highly recommend.

Historia
Two dead bodies changed the course of my life that fall. One of them I knew and the other I'd never laid eyes on until I saw him in the morgue. The first was a local PI of suspect reputation. He'd been gunned down near the beach at Santa Teresa. It looked like a robbery gone bad. The other was on the beach six weeks later. He'd been sleeping rough. Probably homeless. No identification. A slip of paper with Millhone's name and number was in his pants pocket. The coroner asked her to come to the morgue to see if she could ID him.

It's helpful to follow this series in order, as you age & develop with the characters. Wonderful geographic descriptions combined with education on the Ojibwe culture and characters you really care about accompanied by a good mystery in every one.

Historia
A high-profile attorney in the middle of a leave of absence following a personal tragedy is drawn back into the legal arena amidst a media firestorm when he agrees to represent a popular rap artist accused of brutally murdering his pop star girlfriend. With its powerful voice, pause-resisting tension, and strong cast of characters, Adam Mitzner’s novels are reminiscent of such best-selling authors as Scott Turow and John Grisham.

Could not get excited about this story or the characters. After experiencing so many really great legal thrillers by the likes of Scott Turow, John Lescroat; even David Rosenfelt, this was such a poor imitation.
