Historia
Adams County, Alabama, is a friendly place where everyone knows each other—but not well enough, it seems. Someone among them is a serial killer who first romances, then stalks, kidnaps, and kills his victims. It's the first big case for sheriff Bernie Granger, and a chance to prove herself to her new partner, Memphis police detective Jim Norton. But this killer is uncannily smart. It's as if he knows what Bernie is thinking. And his next move is more than shocking—it's chillingly personal.

Beware! GRAPHIC RAPE Scenes…
Revisado: 02-02-23
Overall, the story is good. But, unlike the other Beverly Barton books I’ve listened to, this book has SEVERAL, DISTURBING GRAPHIC RAPE SCENES! - I accidentally listened to most of the 1st one, before skipping ahead. But was able to skip thru other 3-4 scenes. Skipping them didn’t detract from the overall story, which was pretty good. However, if you’re a rape survivor, or something similar, I wouldn’t suggest this book.

Great Story… but, Narration is Odd
Revisado: 02-16-22
The story is great, but the voices & accents, Especially for Cody & the McBains, is very odd.
Otherwise, it’s a good audiobook

Meh… Not bad, but not good either
Revisado: 12-24-21
The performance was average. The story was just so-so. Not BAD. But, not GOOD either.
Seemed a bit “forced.” And, I had to MAKE myself finish the last 45 mins because I was getting bored with it.

Historia
The victims are all found face-down in the murky waters of the creek that runs through Cherokee Pointe, Tennessee. They are naked, except for the black satin ribbon tied around their necks. And each murdered woman shares a single characteristic... they are all redheads... Socialite Reve Sorrell has come to Cherokee Pointe seeking answers about her family history and her shocking connection to wrong-side-of-the-tracks Jazzy Talbot. With their stunning good looks and shining red hair, the two are mirror images of each other—twins abandoned at birth and raised in very different worlds.

Great story! - But, city names pronounced wrong
Revisado: 10-06-21
I really liked this story! And, it was interesting listening to a story that referenced my home town, & local spots a lot. Overall, the performance was really good, EXCEPT the pronunciation of one of the MAIN Cities was wrong.
The performer pronounced “Sevierville” & “Sevier County” as
“sever” (as in “to cut”, like you “sever an arm”). But, being as I’m from Chattanooga, TN, every time she said the name wrong, it jerked me out of the story for a minute.
It’s actually pronounced SEVERE, as in a “severe storm warning.”
And, McCallie School is pronounced “Ma-Call-E”, like “Macaulay Culkin.” (But, that was only mentioned once, so, not a big deal.)
If you’re familiar with the area, just be prepared.
Overall, it’s a good book!

😳 RAPE ⁉️Horrified it starts with a Rape Scene‼️
Revisado: 04-26-21
👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼 RAPE is NOT romance! 😳
I don’t know, maybe the book gets better as it goes along. But, having a rape scene in the first 20 mins is NOT exactly a “romance” book. Even IF the rape isn’t completed, it’s over the top & NOT something that normal people would like to read.
I’m not finishing it, & I’m returning it now! Very disappointed!
