Historia
For Madison Grayson, life is good. Newly licensed as a marriage and family therapist, she can't wait to start her practice. Despite the unfortunate shortage of eligible bachelors on the island - they're all too young, too old, or too weird - Maddie feels like she's finally found her sweet spot. Not even one panic attack in the last year. Not one. And then Ricky O'Shea drops in. Literally. Floating down from the pure blue sky, the one man in the world she hoped never to see again parachutes into town, landing on Boon Dock, canopy draping behind him like a superhero.

Not a Christian Romance Novel
Revisado: 05-09-20
I have to wonder if this author is a non-christian writing a “Christianese” book or at least she doesn’t really know what it means to have a personal relationship with Jesus. I know that’s harsh but hear me out. I bought the audiobook and I have 3 hours and 44 minutes left and I’m so angry. The author writes about three sisters, one of the sisters, a Christian is remembering her prom night as a Christian teen. She leaves the prom with a guy who has teased and humiliated her, her entire childhood. He’s a gentleman for once and “rescues” her from her date who has gotten fresh with her. So they leave together. As they drive to the beach, she preaches at him for joining the marines because she’s convinced he’s running from God. She quotes from memory a lengthy passage from the Bible about not being about to run or hide from God. Several hours later she and this guy she’s never dated before—kiss for the first time. Then they have sex. Sex! This is so unrealistic and it’s not Christian. Christians have temptations and make bad decisions but for a girl to be so devoted to God that she has Scriptures that she can quote by heart and then to so easily invite this guy to have sex with her is ludicrous. Intimacy takes time for one thing. A Christian would have decided way ahead of time that they wouldn’t have sex before marriage. There would have been a conversation with the guy about how it wouldn’t be right. The author had an opportunity to show a good role model but instead kind of implies that this girl is so comfortable with having sex that she has probably done it before. This is so foreign to what Christians believe. If I have a relationship with Jesus and I want to please Him then I will try my hardest to do what pleases Him. I wouldn’t have just a tiny bit of conscience and then dive in and do something so wrong. Then! She worries she’s pregnant until she has her period. Again, unrealistic. She is far more likely to become pregnant than not. The author does a dangerous thing (for the reader) to let this girl off easy. The book has been soapy and bordering on inappropriate with how she describes how good looking this guy is. And just for laughs, I’ll tell you the author says he looks like a young Tommy Lee Jones or George Clooney or Dennis Quaid. What? Is that even possible?!?! I wish I could get my money back. I feel tricked. And what if I had let my teenage daughter read this?!

The Power of Blessing is more than an encouragement to bless. It shows you many ways you can be a blessing to those around you. Blessings are not just about materialism; blessings are more about a lifestyle that changes environments and conditions among families, churches, communities, and even small businesses and large corporations.

Wonderful Book!

This is an eye opening book showing us how we can bless others and also how our negative words can be damaging to others as well as ourselves. I love how the author emphasizes how God views people and what God wants for people, whether they are believers right now or not. I plan on buying a paper copy it was so encouraging.
