Historia
The Sea of Okhotsk north of the Japanese Home Islands is a cold and unforgiving place. Its icy, dark waters can change from a glass-smooth calm into a raging maelstrom in a heartbeat. The shores surrounding the sea, home to Siberian tigers and prowling wolf packs, are equally forbidding. Far from Mother Russia, beyond Siberia, it is a mostly forgotten land—even though it is the home of the Russian Navy's Pacific Fleet.

This was a quick, fun read with a not so realistic plot but still managed to hold my attention. Would recommend .

Historia
Mush Morton was a warrior without peer. At the helm of the USS Wahoo he completely changed the way the submarines fought in the Pacific War. He would relentlessly attack the Japanese at every opportunity, burning through his supply of torpedoes in record time on every patrol. Over the course of only nine months and five patrols, Morton racked up an astounding list of achievements, including being the first American skipper to wipe out an entire enemy convoy single-handedly.

Great story and narration.

Good stuff:
- I think the narrator had an appropriate-style voice for this kind of work .
- audio quality was really good, especially compared to some of the recordings of other (and admittedly, much older) WWII sub books.
The skipper, Mush Morton is an exciting and interesting guy to learn about.
Bad stuff:
- nothin’ (at least so far, I do have about 3 chapters left)
To all those who are out there still on patrol: rest in peace.

Historia
At the top of the world… at the bottom of the sea… a war has begun. Below the polar ice cap, an American nuclear submarine moves quietly in the frigid water, tailing a new Russian sub. But the usual, unspoken game of hide-and-seek between opposing captains ends when the Americans hear sounds of disaster and flooding, and the Russian sub sinks at a depth of a thousand feet. The American sub rushes to help, only to join its former quarry in the deep. The situation ignites tensions around the world.

The more I listened the more it seemed to be very similar to the movie Hunter Killer..

Historia
USS Teuthis Saturation Dive Team Officer-in-Charge (OIC) Mac McDowell is leading his submarine team on a mission to lay SOSUS arrays under the ice in the Arctic when they clash with a new Alfa-class highly automated Soviet submarine. Overwhelmed by mechanical problems, the Soviet crew abandons their sub near Pt. Barrow, Alaska. The Teuthis skipper launches DSRV-1 Mystic, so Mac and his crew can board the empty sub and gather intelligence. The arrival of an even more advanced Soviet sub leads to breathtaking underwater clashes with the specter of war looming.

Super annoying sound effects
Revisado: 04-15-22
I was excited to read this book as I love the previous one “operation Ivy bells” but unlike the previous one, this book contains sound effects and really annoying high pitched music in between the scenes. It’s terrible and who ever made the decision to include it should be court martialed
