Historia
When Bo Seo was 8 years old, he and his family migrated from Korea to Australia. At the time, he did not speak English, and, unsurprisingly, struggled at school. But, then, in fifth grade, something happened to change his life: he discovered competitive debate. Immediately, he was hooked. It turned out, perhaps counterintuitively, that debating was the perfect activity for someone shy and unsure of himself. It became a way for Bo not only to find his voice, but to excel socially and academically. And he’s not the only one.

An interesting personal story
Revisado: 09-06-23
This book is mostly personal stories and anecdotes from the life of a debater. I was left wanting for more information, facts, science, and methods for good argumentation.

Mostly good advice
Revisado: 08-31-23
Overall the book was pretty good. However, some of the advice and verbiage is very outdated. Words and techniques that are cringe-worthy today. I also wish there was more science and less opinion in the book. Take the advice for what it is and use it to help you grow.

Meh
Revisado: 12-14-22
Interesting book on architecture, but doesn't really keep up with or mention modern trends. Disappointing.

Historia
Our brains do their best to help us out, but every so often they can be real assholes - having meltdowns, getting addicted to things, or shutting down completely at the worst possible moments. Your brain knows it's not good to do these things, but it can't help it sometimes - especially if it's obsessing about trauma it can't overcome. That's where this life-changing book comes in. With humor, patience, science, and lots of good-ole swearing, Dr. Faith explains what's going on in your skull, and talks you through the process of retraining your brain to respond appropriately....

Untuck this recording quality

Disappointing, thin content, forced swearing
Revisado: 08-18-22
I get that one of the funny and attention grabbing parts of this book is that she swears a lot. I don’t mind it, but it was so forced in every other sentence that it felt childish. The content was very thin and limited with more opinion than research. This was much harder to listen to than most audio books due to the way the author recorded it, as well.
