Historia
Perla Wultz lives with her husband, Grant, and their precious daughter, Sophie, in a gated Pasadena community. Affluent, sociable, and accomplished, Perla plays the part of loving wife and mother to perfection. It seems an ideal life, if not for a decades-old crime that has become Perla’s dark and consuming secret obsession. Twenty-three years ago, Leewood Folcrum confessed to murdering two young girls during a birthday party. Though he’s been condemned to a life sentence, his crime is not forgotten.

well written
Revisado: 10-08-24
This book was great! Covers alot of ground. It's simple cast and writing style sticks to the story and doesn't get to messy with side stories. it has twists and turns that are unexpected but everything comes together neatly.

The world's population is soaring, creating overcrowded cities and an economic crisis. And in the UK, the breaking point has arrived. A growing number of people can no longer afford to start families, let alone raise them. But for those desperate to experience parenthood, there is an alternative. For a monthly subscription fee, clients can create a virtual child from scratch who they can access via the metaverse and a VR headset. To launch this new initiative, the company behind Virtual Children has created a reality TV show called The Substitute.

This book has it all! it's modern, scandalous and written well. There are lots of characters and narrators to bring them to life. The plot is interesting and there is depth to the stories.

Life’s tragedy’s can be new beginnings

Very entertaining! This book was fun and exciting. A bit outside my normal listen I found this book easy to start and stop throughout my day without missing large details. I especially liked that the women created a bond based on their shared morals and values, instead of tearing each other down.
