I did not go to Vietnam, but I did go to Desert storm. I was active duty military on the day The Vietnam Memorial was dedicated, and I was present. I was very moved then and I remain proud of my service and proud of all the women who have chosen to serve, I cried a lot listening to this book. It was profoundly moving.

I can’t stand sierra

I love the story like the timeline think everything is great and believable, but I cannot stand Sierra. She is the epitome of a weak willed ditzy, moronic woman of the 50s who can’t decide what to do with her life. She jumps at a whim. She can’t see consequences to her actions. She is just nauseating and I’m sort of losing respect for Lucas for falling for her. I sure as hell. Hope you cap her and get her off the series. She’s just awful.

Where is Emily?

I only purchased this to keep going on the Emily Kenyan series. Imagine my dismay to find out she’s not in this book at all talk about false advertising. It was OK not his best and certainly not what I was looking for.

I have read every book by this author, but this might be my last

Im a great historical fiction fan and I can normally get into any story but not this one. As always, Scott brick narration is excellent, but it’s hard to make something this convoluted come together. I could not focus on this my mind would wander. I’d have to go back and read whole chapters again, and still couldn’t focus on it. I just couldn’t get interested and then the mind numbing history lesson after the book was the icing on the cake, my least favorite book by this author in this series.

I have an absolute fan of Ken Follett have listen to everything

I could not get into this book I listened, almost halfway, struggling to care about the characters I didn’t like them. I didn’t like the story finally gave up halfway. I’ve never done this before. Just stop listening after hours and hours. Perhaps it’s the comparison to his other book called never that I just finished and could not put down next to that. This is a disappointment.

Great new character-great story

I’m such a fan of the Jonathan grave series that I was reluctant to try this new story. I shouldn’t have been. This story grabs you right away and holds on tight. I cannot wait for the next book in the series!

Great story with a different twist than his typical

I’ve long been a fan of the gray man series and his writing style. I absolutely loved this book and I hope he writes more on this particular character or this type of venue I would definitely buy another one

Great story great character development

Apparently I’ve listened to her books out of order. But it doesn’t matter I like the main character she’s believable and likable driven but human she has integrity and good character. The storyline was excellent I can usually guess who it is and it wasn’t till I was close to 2/3 of the way through the book did I even have an inkling of who it might be I will definitely be reading more from this author really enjoyed it

Covid hysteria in this book ruined the story

If you could have dropped the fear mongering for this it would have been my favorite of the series. Nearly nonstop observation that people weren’t wearing masks “gasp” or even worse “not social distancing” (oh the horror) did not add value to the story and were major detractions. Stick with the story line please. Great characters and otherwise great story.

Fabulous story beautifully narrated

I added this title and then never listened to it I’ve had it for two years. I will listen again it was a captivating story and very heartwarming and sad at the same time I thoroughly enjoyed this book
