Historia
Shana had a big summer: With the help of her best friends and a hero from another world, she’s conquered dungeons, leveled up, defeated a small cult of evil sorcerers, and looted hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of gold. But maybe the greatest treasure was the dungeon core they found. With it, Shana and her friends can build a dungeon of their own, one that will reward them gold and experience for defeating enemies. But that’s only if they can figure out how to make it grow. There’s also one other little problem.

I didn’t know that LitRPGs were a thing until this series. I’m hooked! I absolutely loved both of them. Hoping there’s a third in the works!

Historia
Henry’s life as a valiant defender of the realm is over—stolen away when he is transported to a strange new world. Instead of horses and swords, it has cars, rent, hamburgers, and a gun-toting part-time waitress named Shana. There isn't much use for a white knight atop a fiery steed...or is there? Thankfully, Henry’s ability to level up and unlock powerful new skills hasn’t abandoned him. In fact, Shana is starting to level up, too. But there's a catch.

Historia
"While the history books are filled with tales of obsessive visionary geniuses who remade the world in their images with sheer, almost irrational force, I've found that history is also made by individuals who fought their egos at every turn, who eschewed the spotlight, and who put their higher goals above their desire for recognition." (From the prologue)

Absolutely loved this book

I’m not one who thinks much of myself. Pretty low self esteem but this book had me captivated early on to the point of listening at 1.0 speed through the whole thing. (Which I’ve NEVER done before, and I’ve listened to 50+ audiobooks) Can’t say enough good things about it! Can’t wait to listen to his next book!

Historia
In A Mind at Home with Itself, Byron Katie illuminates one of the most profound ancient Buddhist texts, The Diamond Sutra (newly translated by distinguished scholar Stephen Mitchell), to reveal the nature of the mind and to liberate us from painful thoughts, using her revolutionary system of self-inquiry called "The Work". Byron Katie doesn't merely describe the awakened mind; she empowers us to see it and feel it in action.

Wow
Revisado: 06-20-19
This book has helped me turn from someone who was convinced that my mind was trying to destroy me, to the point I tried to strangle myself. There seemed to be a small soft voice inside telling me that I had a reason to live. So my attempt was half-assed. Through the Work I have quieted the noise and can now hear my authentic self, who only wants growth, progress, joy and love. I can easily recognize the primitive voices that are stuck in stressful survival mode, who just want instant gratification, pleasure, and pain avoidance. I now look at those voices as if they are a toddler. My wife and I both are so grateful that Byron Katie has come into my life 😌🙏

Historia
Decades before the American Revolution, Benjamin Franklin lamented that English settlers were constantly fleeing over to the Indians - but Indians almost never did the same. Tribal society has been exerting an almost gravitational pull on Westerners for hundreds of years, and the reason lies deep in our evolutionary past as a communal species. The most recent example of that attraction is combat veterans who come home to find themselves missing the incredibly intimate bonds of platoon life.

This book was eye opening. I have clinical depression and anxiety, and there were an astonishing amount of correlations with my own life.
