there is a lot of brain science, especially in the first couple chapters of this book. much easier to listen to it than try to read it. great voice work. great content.

Would you listen to Recovery again? Why?

I will listen to this again for perspective. This is the 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous without the formality/outdated opinion of the big book or the niceties of the typical meeting.

What other book might you compare Recovery to and why?

AA's Big Book is the format of Brand's writing. But relative to today.

What about Russell Brand’s performance did you like?

It is pure Russell in all his Cockney glory.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

One may be surprised to know the NORMAL Brand. To hear him talk of his internal reactions to meeting others and anticipation of his daily duties.

The birth of his daughter, in his words, did bring a tear.

Any additional comments?

If you hate AA meetings, or if you hate the Big Book, give this book a try. Brand is honest and raw and his usual brazen self. Sensitive ears need not apply.

Would you listen to The 80/10/10 Diet again? Why?

I downloaded this listen with the Kindle book. It is a good reminder of how to get my nutritional macros.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The 80/10/10 Diet?

I enjoyed listening to the concept of fruit being the human's perfect food, which I agree. However, there has been some science since early man and we are living beyond the age of 35 now even with an inferior diet, so I had to absorb the concept of the book with a grain of salt, no pun intended. But really, salt tastes awesome, even on a piece of fruit.

What about Brett Barry’s performance did you like?

Very good. Exactly what I wanted. No "acting". I HATE voice acting in non-fiction works. Barry's VO work is very good for the content of the text.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No and that was not my intention.

the voice talent tends to act out quotes, I assume to differentiate between the author and her interviewees. I am finding this very distracting and the voice seems to sound almost mocking.

I expect this acting in dictating fiction. I wish I could hear this without the changes in tone.
