A convict is brutally murdered in his locked cell deep in the heart of Scotland’s most infamous prison. Sleeping in a cell across the floor lies John Rebus, the equally notorious detective. Stripped of his badge and estranged from his police family, he is now fighting for his own life—protected by an old nemesis but always one wrong move away from the shank. Harry Grimm and team never let me down! It was a gripping mystery. There was suspense, intrigue and humor. Any author that can pull off all three is my kind of author. And that ending! And great job to Aubrey Parsons for the excellent reading.

Historia
In a Dry Season, winner of the Anthony Award, is an outstanding example of mystery fiction. Peter Robinson's Detective Chief Inspector Alan Banks conjures up memories of classic detectives like Philip Marlowe and Sherlock Holmes. An insufferable drought ravages the Yorkshire countryside, depleting the Thornfield Reservoir, revealing the remnants of the flooded town of Hobb's End and the terrible secrets kept safe within its watery tomb. Amongst the ruins, the remains of a woman's body are discovered.

Love DCI Banks!
Revisado: 10-12-23
This is my favorite Banks book. I have read it twice. When I came across it on Audible, I had to have it to listen to while I walk. The story switches back and forth smoothly. It was interesting to read about life during WWII. I liked how the murder was resolved. I highly recommend this book.

This is the first book in the DCI Bone series. I hope there are many more! The team of detectives are people you can admire. They are hard working and loyal to Bone. They’re trying to find a copycat killer. A vicious killer. I had a suspicion who it was. But it wasn’t! I highly recommend this book! It is so good!!
