Started off good, but....

The beginning of this story held promise, but it gradually deteriorated and became very disappointing. Part of the problem is that neither of the main characters is particularly likable so it was hard to care about either one. And the other problem is that the plot was completely unbelievable. That an inexperienced lawyer, paired with a rookie assistant, would be solely in charge of an investigation and defense, even in a preliminary hearing, is just too unrealistic, even for fiction. And their investigations and manipulations bordered on the ridiculous. I cannot recommend this book, even if it were available for free.

Another Winner

I am a true fan of this series - I own them all and have listened to all of them more than once, especially when reality becomes a little too real and I need an escape. Annoying Herione

The story itself isn't bad - a bit far fetched but not bad escapism. But the main character is incredibly obnoxious and annoying, so much so that it I found myself hoping some misfortune would befall her. I understand the author's wanting to make her into a more "trendy" character, but I think the author confuses rudeness with strength of character. .

I have enjoyed the entire Andy Carpenter series and have listened to each one at least twice. Grover Gardner is an outstanding narrator and really brings the books to life. Please keep 'em coming, Me. Rosenfelt!

Delightfully quirky

This book is not my usual fare, but I decided to give it a try and was pleasantly surprised. It's very creative, the language is a treat, and thoroughly enjoyed the story. I'm looking forward t more in this series.

An enjoyable series BUT...

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I wish there were fewer character stereotypes. For example, her continual portrayal of Americans as rude and obnoxious is getting old.

Would you recommend Crowned and Dangerous to your friends? Why or why not?

Yes. This is generally an enjoyable and entertaining series. It's a good choice when you want to put your brain on vacation.

I found this book to be a very pleasant surprise. I have read other books by this author and this series came up when I did a search for her other writings. if you're looking for a book with gentle charm and wit, this book is a great choice.

Can't Wait For Volume 2

I enjoyed this book very much. It's a traditional whodunnit with likable characters and an interesting plot, as well as several subplots. I thought the narrator did a fine job differentiating the characters and I'm really looking forward to the next installment.
