Magdalene
Revisado: 10-09-15
Magdalene is a well-crafted story about the life of this Biblical woman--a woman whom Jesus freed from demons. Some events are purely the author's ideas, but many are based upon the Bible account and seem plausible. The narrator did a good job of portraying various characters.
In this novel Mary suffers great loss and later seeks vengeance against the Roman soldiers. Her life is interwoven with that of Atticus Aurelius, a Roman centurion. The story opens with Mary on trial for a crime against Atticus and his son. There are many surprises and twists and turns, especially at the end. I recommend this book which I received through TBCN in exchange for an honest review.

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this novel on Audible. The performance was very good--Becky Doughty did an excellent narration of the story. I would recommend this. I received this book through TBCN in exchange for an honest review.
This is a very touching story about a young couple dealing with fertility issues. The reader very easily gets involved in their struggles and emotions. This is a very pro-adoption story in the circumstances that this couple faces. Just when you think that everything is going smoothly, they face another obstacle or glitch in their quest for a child. We see God at work in the whole process, and their journey in trusting Him for His perfect plan is the focus of the story.

This is a wonderful story, weaving together the lives of three families and three adults, dealing with family problems and challenges. One woman had spent her life, trying to stay out of her famous family's limelight--to finally realize through the help of two other train travelers, that family is important, no matter how difficult. Another woman had run away from her family situation; she could not deal with her daughter's emotional problems and abuse any longer. Through the course of her trip, with the friendship of the other traveler's and a divine encounter, she finds courage to face a life-threatening situation. The final passenger is dealing with the loss of his wife--the one who cared for his two children and without whom he did not know how to cope or interact with his kids. Their encounter on the train changes all of their lives for the good and forms lasting relationships. A very enjoyable story, excellently crafted and narrated. It is uplifting and gives life lessons on relationships and how necessary people are to each other. I would recommend this book. It is my first audible experience and definitely not my last.
