Historia
I lost everything in the fire, then I was whisked away to this Academy for Shifters. I don't know anyone, I don't like anyone, and I definitely can't trust anyone. And they don't even know that I have a secret.... I'm not supposed to be here. I'm not a Shifter. I'm something else. All the while these five young men stare at me with primal hunger...

Middle school quality, NOT worth the price

So I’ll start by saying the story has a lot of potential, but I’ve listened to the first two books and it just isn’t getting any better. When I read or listen to a book I can visualize what I’m reading/hearing. I start to get part of a picture and then it’s gone. It’s like the author made an outline, and then just threw stuff in there. She didn’t proofread any of it to see if anything could be improved upon, so there are a lot of sentences that sound like something I would have written in middle school. The audiobooks are only 2 hours long for almost $5. I can pay about $8-13 for a book that keeps me enthralled for 15-28 hours. There are 20 books in this series, which means you’ll spend almost $100 for the equivalence of 2-3 books. Bad books at that. Oh and the narrator, I think she might have a hard time reading because I had to turn up the speed to 1.15x so she sounds like a normal narrator. Not worth it for the price

Historia
The discovery of a strange and superior warship sends Dion, youngest son of the king of Xanthos, and Chloe, a Phalesian princess, on a journey across the sea, where they are confronted by a kingdom far more powerful than they could ever have imagined. But they also find a place in turmoil, for the ruthless sun king, Solon, is dying. In order to gain entrance to heaven, Solon is building a tomb - a pyramid clad in gold - and has scoured his own empire for gold until there's no more to be found.

Great author

As a truck driver I listen to a lot of books. I’ve never written a review before, but this author deserves it. This is the third series I’ve started listening to, and this author is so amazing that I don’t even look to see what the book is about anymore before buying it. There are a lot of authors where I love the story but feel like I’m constantly thinking “get on with the story.” Wether that’s because the author has gone too far into an emotional spiral of thinking, or the depiction of the characters view of there self is far better than their actions. This author doesn’t do that. I’m not saying the characters have no depth but their actions speak for them. The story line is constantly keeping me engaged and I don’t get bored. I would give every book that I’ve listened to from this author 5 stars in every category. If you’re skeptical, try just one book and you’ll see what I mean.
