Excellent writing - Rough subject matter
Revisado: 03-25-22
More than once, I wanted to put this book away unfinished due to subject matter, but I was so intrigued by the plot and characters that I needed to see how everything turned out. Please be forewarned that there is an especially gruesome murder scene, drug use, and one incident of animal cruelty. If none of that turns you away, then you will probably love this book.

Loved Following this Mountain Family
Revisado: 05-10-20
It was a joy to revisit the East Tennessee mountains and get reacquainted with the McAllister women as time has passed. As always, Susan Gabriel brings both her settings and her characters to life in a vibrant way. I only wish the story line could have continued just a bit longer.

Southern Fiction at its Finest
Revisado: 11-22-15
This novel had me in its grasp from the very beginning to the very end. The characters came alive and almost felt like my own family. I was not always sure where the story was heading, and that made for an exciting read - never a dull moment. Anyone who likes Southern charm, quirky relatives, and a bit of the supernatural will love this book.

Historia
In this book, Galaxy tells the poignant story of his 13-year relationship with a petite gray-and-white short-haired cat named Benny, and gives singular advice for living with, caring for, and loving the feline in your home. When Benny arrived in his life, Galaxy was a down-and-out rock musician with not too much more going on than a part-time job at an animal shelter and a drug problem. Benny's previous owner brought the cat to the shelter in a cardboard box to give him up.

Wow!
Revisado: 06-13-15
This book was outstanding on so many different levels. Jackson Galaxy, in a painfully honest narrative, takes us through his life's struggles with himself, his relationships, and his cat(s). A beautiful story that is both written and read superbly.

This story had me in its grips from beginning to end. I was not sure how such conflict could be resolved, but the plot was woven into a beautiful conclusion. Gabriel is a masterful writer.
