Great Chemistry!!!
Revisado: 08-16-23
I wouldn't really call this enemies to lovers because they are kind of friends. He's her brother's friend. And they really do not get along but, opposites attract. These two had the best banter! I loved all of the back and forth! I liked Karson a lot he was a dream guy! Payton was not as likeable but, she reminded me of myself so I couldn't hate her too much. She was a controlling workaholic and he helped her stress out less and stop to smell the roses. They were a believable couple and they get to go on all of these amazing vacations!! So fun!!
I loved the narration! She seamlessly transitions from character to character. It brings you right into the story and I was smiling along with their sizzling banter and magnetic chemistry. She brought both the romance and arguments to life!
I'm looking forward to the next one!

Great Cozy Mystery!!
Revisado: 06-20-23
This was such a fun book! I loved all of the friendships in Stinky Springs and I wish I could join the ladies social club. Like any good cozy mystery, this made me want to move to a small town and solve crime. I had a blast going along with all of the hijinks these characters got into. The mystery itself was really well done. I didn't know who the murder was until the final clues fell into place. The way a good mystery should be. The red herrings weren't obvious and it had me questioning everyone's motivations. I almost want to go back and listen again just so I can better appreciate the foreshadowing.
This was a delightful listening experience! It was narrated with such joyful exuberance that it made me smile and laugh along with the characters. The different voices and personalities of the ensample of quirky characters was so skillfully narrated that I forgot I was listening to an audiobook. I feel like I was breaking into houses to get evidence right alongside them.
Light and enjoyable listen!

Eye opening
Revisado: 06-11-23
The book does an amazing job describing human nature through examples of history. The narrator has a great voice and does an excellent job making you feel the emotions of each story. I felt as if I got to listen to a history and psychologic book at the same time. The last chapter hit the hardest for me. I had an intense experience of own sense of mortality since the age of 13. I have constantly had to fight the thoughts entering my mind. The anxiety that I feel is overwhelming and I have to immediately try to come up with new thoughts to bring down the anxiety. I am an individual that has almost no anxiety about anything. It was a relief to hear that I am not alone in this experience and we all share this through our human nature.

Hauntingly Beautiful
Revisado: 04-28-23
I loved this story! It was very poetic and full of intrigue. It read differently than a lot of YA. Like I wasn't sure where it was going. I didn't know if it was more dystopian or what was actually happening and it really kept me on my toes. It felt very genre defying and I liked that a lot. I really felt like I got to know the main character, Marei. I really want to know what else happens to her but it sounds like she isn't the protagonist in the rest of the series. Hopefully, we still get to find out what happens to her! My one criticism is that I wanted to know more! I wanted to know what happens to everyone on the island and how they got there in the first place. This a prequel though so I'm guessing I'll just need to keep reading.
I loved the narration! It starts with the main character whispering into a seashell and it really transported me into the story. I felt like I was the one who found the seashell and was listening to it instead of an audiobook. That feeling carried throughout the experience. That overall feeling never went away but faded into the background as the scenes played out. I could picture each of the characters so clearly and I knew who was talking instantly. There was also so much emotion. It was like the narrator was living it. She sounded so sad that I was wondering if we should check on her. Fantastic acting and performance!
I think you would enjoy this book if you like YA and are looking for something a little different than the current mainstream books.

Fun and Compelling
Revisado: 04-14-23
This was a really interesting story! I enjoyed the characters and the journey they go though. If you are a fan of Percy Jackson or Harry Potter, you will enjoy this book! It was a fun way to pass a commute but I'm not sure if it's one that I would listen to again. I think because the land of Exousia didn't pull me in like other fantasy worlds. I didn't finish the book and wish I could travel there and spend time with Quincy and his friends.
The narration was delightful! It pulled me right in and I felt like I wasn't just hearing the story, I was living it. A strength was the different characters and I was able to recognize each one immediately without being over the top or silly. It felt very authentic and genuine for each character which is truly impressive. The pacing was perfect for the story and never brought me out of the moment. I highly recommend this book for the narration alone.
In summary, the book was good and the narration was the cherry on top making is a very enjoyable listen.

Hilarious and Sweet
Revisado: 04-13-23
This was the Valentine's day one but you can really listen to it at any time. It didn't feel overly Valentine's dayish. Which I might have been disappointed in if I had read it in February. But, I didn't so it ended up being perfect! I really liked the girl in this one - she seems smart and put together. The guy wasn't my type because he seemed kind of crude and I don't think it's a good idea to be with your best friend's brother.
The narration had the perfect comedic timing! There were a couple of moments in this story where I was actually laughing and looked like a crazy person on my commute. It was a joy to listen to! While the couple wasn't my favorite I enjoyed the telling so much I will probably listen to it again! Maybe this time for Valentine's day.
If you like movies like No Strings Attached, you will love this story!

Cute Story
Revisado: 04-13-23
This one wasn't my favorite of this series. It takes place in Ney York at St. Patrick's Day and it says that they dye the Hudson green. I don't think that's true. That's Chicago. It kind of took me out of the story from the get go. However, I'm not really reading these for the accuracy. I'm here for a cute romance. And it was cute. But, I don't understand how anyone would rather live in Arizona than New York City, So, I did have some trouble relating. The ending was super cute though and one of my favorites!
The narration was delightful. A strength was the different characters and I was able to recognize each one immediately. One issue for me was that the male POV was supposed to have an Irish accent and he did not, It was mentioned multiple times and it once again took me out of the story. But, I don't think it made sense for him to have one because it seemed like he grew up in New York. So I'm probably putting too much thought into it.
Overall, it was fun but not my favorite of the series.

If Halmark was Sexy
Revisado: 04-13-23
What a fun series! I love how there is a book for every month and you don't have to read them in order. I loved this one because you get to live vicariously through people who go on a reality TV show. Something I have always been oddly curious about but never really wanted to do it. I think the guy in this one was my favorite because he was such a good sport. I felt like he's the kind of guy I would like to know and date. A fire fighter? Yes please.
I thought the narration was amazing! I felt like I really got into the character's heads. She does an incredible job of pulling you into the story and making you root for the characters. Sometimes these types of stories come across as cringy or awkward to listen to but not this time. The narration felt really genuine and made it feel like real people falling in love and living an amazing adventure.
I think you would enjoy it if you like Halmark movies but wish they were sexier.

I have a lot of opnions
Revisado: 03-07-23
Okay, I did not like this one but I could not stop listening. I just did not get what was so great about the guy! He was not good.
Maren. You are a cute little bookstore owner who does yoga. Just because your ex was trash, does not mean you have to settle for recycling. He's a software designer guy from Seattle. Fabio he is not.
At the end, I found myself hoping that she wouldn't get on the plane. I was talking to my audiobook trying to tell her that there are MUCH better guys out there. She did not listen,
I had the time of my life with the narration though. I mean this narrator did what she could with the source material and really committed. It was a really enjoyable listen even if I didn't buy the romance.

Another Fun Romance
Revisado: 03-05-23
I liked this one less than A Date with an Elf. I think maybe because I like Christmas more than New Years? Or maybe I didn't buy the romance as much. I'm just not sure how a famous musician can make it work with a nurse. I don't think they make sense long term. It was still a really fun listen though and I'm excited for the rest of the series.
I loved the narration! It was like gossiping over coffee with my best friend.
