Historia
Despite his brilliance, Paul Skoglund hasn't held a steady job for years, partly because of his Tourette's syndrome, a neurological disorder that forces his body into wild swings and to blurt out words that are hilariously, often tragically, inappropriate.

Second time listening,, even better!
Revisado: 07-29-17
Totally captivated by story and narrator. I never read or watch a movie twice . I think in a year I could hear this a third time . Fixation on women tiring ,only fault.

I hate to say this, but this was just ridiculous!
Revisado: 06-11-17
I kept trying, because the first book was tolerable, but this was insulting to the reader's intelligence .

Wow exhausting. ...but I couldn't stop listening.
Revisado: 12-19-16
I didnt care for the narrator for this book. The voice too gravely, he may be better suited for detective or mob stories.

Historia
My Real Estate Nightmare has been hailed as "hilarious and clever" by critics. It describes the true story of real estate broker Bob Boog's attempt to help out a pony-loving California homeowner who rented out half her house to a family from her church - thinking they'd be good tenants. However, shortly after moving in, the tenants filed a restraining order against the owner and stopped paying rent.

Should not quit day job
Revisado: 10-28-16
Would you try another book from Bob Boog and/or Bob Boog?
Never
Has My Real Estate Nightmare turned you off from other books in this genre?
yes
How did the narrator detract from the book?
Very much!
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from My Real Estate Nightmare?
Where would I start? I couldn't get past chapter 6, so I guess I would have cut it all. It was irritating, frustrating and sexist. Donald Trump came to mind a lot.
Any additional comments?
Do not waste your credit or money. This is not a book. So sorry Bob.

Historia
Elsa is seven years old and different. Her grandmother is 77 years old and crazy, standing-on-the-balcony-firing-paintball-guns-at-men-who-want-to-talk-about-Jesus crazy. She is also Elsa's best and only friend. At night Elsa takes refuge in her grandmother's stories, in the Land of Almost-Awake and the Kingdom of Miamas, where everybody is different and nobody needs to be normal.

This was heartbreakingly wonderful
Revisado: 05-31-16
Would you listen to My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She's Sorry again? Why?
I don't usually read a book or see a movie twice; but, I may after some time has past , read this again.
What did you like best about this story?
Tender but still with a edge so as not to be sappy at all.
What about Joan Walker’s performance did you like?
Everything
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Yes, I struggled with the Grandmother's ethics a bit, but that is just something I am learning to let go of. Sometimes ethics are just social conditioning and really just a matter of collective hypnosis. So, you really have to be open minded to enjoy Grandma.
Any additional comments?
I read this months ago, but I found myself pondering a situation with a different mindset because I remembered something within this story. So I guess I would say it is still teaching me things about life even long after reading it. I loved A Man Called Ovo, by this author, also for many of the same reasons.
