Borgia and his legacy
Revisado: 02-23-25
The different voices made it easy to follow the story. There’s definitely more sequels and i look forward to reading them.

Joy and mystery
Revisado: 10-21-24
The narrator was so good. Vera Wong was an interesting character and do were those involved with the Vera Wang World Famous Teahouse. I liked how romance, intrigue and family were intertwined.

Trying to hear Xe Sands
Revisado: 10-13-24
The story was interesting but Xe Sand was difficult to hear at many places, her voice would dip to a whisper and I couldn’t hear her. I will buy the book next time I see her as a narrator

As a sociologist this book made sense. He focuses on the fear that dictates individuals’ beliefs. How those beliefs are integrated into policy. How those policies actually work against the interests of the fear-filled populations.

Tennis and life
Revisado: 02-12-23
I enjoyed it, not as much as her other books, but it was worth the money and the time. Carrie Soto is extremely self-centered, we don’t see her caring about others until the end. The peppering of Spanish throughout was frustrating. I couldn’t even look up the words because I wasn’t sure of what was said or how to spell it. Tova becomes acquainted with curmudgeonly Marcellus, a giant Pacific octopus living at the aquarium. Marcellus knows more than anyone can imagine but wouldn’t dream of lifting one of his eight arms for his human captors—until he forms a remarkable friendship with Tova.

When I first started this I was wondering about the connection between the key characters, about one quarter through I figured it all out. The way the generations come together is truly remarkable and a Giant Pacific octopus. Woww
