Such a good story that kept me riveted. I love the reminiscent storylines of Walt and Henry. I can't wait for the next book!

Penelope Keith is definitely the best narrator.

Alison Larkin is okay, but she doesn't do the character voices differently. Penelope Keith is still my favorite. I liked the story overall, which is what kept me listening.

This is one of my favorite series to listen to due to the mystical and mysterious nature of the stories. I like that each book develops the characters in different ways. Gigi extensively researches her material and adds a bit of magic, which makes the stories enchanting. I really like Dorian and they way she describes his movements. You forget he's a gargoyle sometimes. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series!

This book made me laugh out loud. I really enjoy it when Rincewind and the luggage are part of the story. The voices are very well done and really bring the characters alive.

I love the Hamish Macbeth stories and have listened to every one. most of the have an epilogue, but this one ended on a particularly cruel note of Hamish with no gentle easing back to life. M.C. Beaton created a set of lovely characters that were multi dimensional. Now we have characters that are written just for the sake of it with not the same dimension. I did enjoy the story for the most part but the ending was jarring.

I found it difficult to keep track with this book. I didn't really see the point of the Russian spy part of the plot. Skipping that would have made it a little better. Also the narrator could have been more animated. It was like he was reading stereo instructions.

The narrator definitely didn't research the proper pronunciation of Navajo words and important landmarks of the southwest. I didn't enjoy the story as much because the narrator wasn't in awe of the beauty of the southwest as previous narrators. I'm glad the next book is narrated by someone else. Hopefully they learn how to pronounce important Navajo words.

Slow to start, but I is worth sticking around. I listened to "A Line to Kill" after the second Magpie Murders book and enjoyed minute story parallels. I'm looking forward to the next books in both series.

I really enjoyed this book. I'm usually able to figure out the murder early, but I was thrown for a loop on this one. I enjoyed the multicultural cast of characters and all the delicious sounding food. I look forward to the next book in the series!

I have been listening to these books consecutively, so I've been able to track the characters and their backstory. Simon in the last book was an orphan with no money, which was the opposite of Harry who disappeared when Toni's Detective agency went bust. Harry came from a wealthy family. Simon in the current story has at least a father and has suits from Saville Row. Annoying little detail and an annoying character, now that he is wealthy. I like the story overall, but found this missed detail annoying.
