I’m really enjoying this series. I LOVED Coach and Jeannie and I was really looking forward to Seth and Layla and Evelyn did not disappoint. Can’t wait for the next.

I’m a huge fan of Brittany Cherry, and now I can add another of her books my list of likes. This is a very cute holiday romance. There are sad parts, but Holly and Kai (and Mano, haha) do a good job of supporting and fighting for each other. I really enjoyed this.

This was a nice and very realistic story. Narrators did a good job. I love that both the FMC and MMC grew to be better versions of themselves. This is speaks positively about mental and emotional health and therapy. Very good banter between the two as well. HEA ending 🖤

First off, I try not to leave bad reviews, but if you’re going to spend your money on this, you should know the truth.

I love the narrators and will read any book they’re in if I can. However, this book was not it and Wesleigh and Emmanuel could not save it. The story was drab and shallow. It got utterly ridiculous during the last third of it. I literally skipped chapters because it was so cringe/drama ridden. Save your money/credit.

This was legit one of the BEST trilogies I’ve read in a LONG TIME. Perfect ending to a thrilling and heartwarming book series. I love the books and really enjoyed the narrators. Shane and Aure really brought the characters to life, and this book added a third narrator, Stephanie, who only enhanced the experience. Though I’m sad this story is over, I’m really appreciative to have a fun, well-written Black-led Romantasy in my library 🖤

It was ok. Julius was way too insecure for me. The pacing was off as well. Autumn being “young” (the ages are never actually clarified) explains her naïveté, so that part was realistic. I also understand the drama of the ex wife to an extent, but felt that relationship took up more story than developing a better relationship between the actual FMC and MMC. Overall, it’s just ok.

This was a simple story with a little angst, as you can imagine from a workplace romance. Both of the characters were likable, and both narrators did a really good job. I liked it for what it was.

It would have been a better story if there was actual relationship development to really sell the romantic leads’ love story. The gist of the relationship was sex. They didn’t talk about each other’s lives or get to know each other. MMC even acknowledges that he didn’t know her work schedule because he never asked! Overall, it was what you would expect, so not bad at all.

I don’t like leaving bad reviews, but I have to for this one just in case anyone is on the fence about this one. The book was ‘OK’ up until the twist. It would have been your average forbidden love story but the family drama just didn’t make sense. The MMC and his sister forgiving and letting go didn’t sit right with me. And the FMC was selfish and naive the whole damn book. The fact she basically demanded the MMC accept her father in their life in order to marry her really pissed me off. If she truly loved the MMC, she would have either not married him, or accept that her relationship with her dad, who she was estranged to btw to the point she had a damn panic attack when she saw he called her, would have to remain distant because what he did was UNFORGIVABLE and she would never allow him to re-traumatize her husband. And don’t get me started on the MMC’s sister “being upset” with her brother for being hurt and pissed about his girlfriend’s family’s betrayal*side eye*. What are we doing here??

I liked the first book of this series and I’ll read the others since they can essentially be read as standalone books, but this one was a huge disappointment.

This book covered all of the bases. I love a second-chance romance and getting the chance to read Avery’s story. You don’t have to, but it helps reading her sister’s, Yara’s, story first. Nathan and Avery both have past traumas that bond them together and Brittany does a great job developing their relationship with care. I actually like this book more than the first of this series. I can’t wait to read Willow’s story!

Content warning: This book does cover tough subjects such as loss and grief, but handles it with compassion and a positive approach to therapy.

I really enjoyed this story. Both leads were mature and communicated well. Very engaging storyline. When faced with difficulties on both ends, they stayed true to themselves and one another. They both also had supportive friends to rely on and tell them truth as well. This is a story about genuine, organic connection that thoughtfully progressed throughout the story. Highly recommend!
