Good and informative story. However, too disjointed for audio.

Tried to like it: finished it anyway
Revisado: 06-12-23
Characters not developed(Phoenix and George) for me it was hard to follow. It jumped generations with no warning and that made it hard for me with an audio book. Maybe an actual book would be easier. 👎

Historia
The town of Henbane sits deep in the Ozark Mountains. Folks there still whisper about Lucy Dane’s mother, a bewitching stranger who appeared long enough to marry Carl Dane and then vanished when Lucy was just a child. Now on the brink of adulthood, Lucy experiences another loss when her friend Cheri disappears and is then found murdered, her body placed on display for all to see. Lucy’s family has deep roots in the Ozarks, part of a community that is fiercely protective of its own.

Hard to follow/ Spoiler Alert
Revisado: 02-19-20
I have loved her other books but literally I was 3/4 of the way through before I realized that the grown Lucy was the baby Lucy 😂🤷🏼♀️. There should have been year/dates at the character shift to emphasize the flashback. Granted I was painting my house and a little distracted but how

Finn and Layla are young, in love, and on vacation. They’re driving along the highway when Finn decides to stop at a service station to use the restroom. He hops out of the car, locks the doors behind him, and goes inside. When he returns Layla is gone - never to be seen again. That is the story Finn told to the police. But it is not the whole story.

Okay storyline that held my Interest about 1/2 through then I was so sick of the Russian Dolls I couldn’t stand it anymore. 3/4 of the way through I figured out the plot. Kinda disappointed👎🏼

Excellent Read
Revisado: 09-12-18
Although the overall book was excellent, having a 19 year old daughter made me only relate to maybe half of the chapters. For a young Mom with small kiddos this book would be a life saver! If only it had come along sooner for me! Still loved it though!
